The film was produced by Pixar and released by Disney, with three directors participating: Madeline Sharafian, Domee Shi and Adriana Molina.
The boy was bored with the earth and flew into space.
Elio Solis (voiced by Yonas Kibread) is an orphan who is cared for by his aunt Olga Solis (Zoe Saldana) in place of his deceased parents. Elio does not feel the love and sacrifice of his aunt. The boy always feels lonely and shows his rebellion by skipping school and fighting with his friends.
Once, while lost in the Voyager satellite exhibition area, Elio dreamed of flying into space: “Aliens, come and get me!”. His wish came true, and Elio was able to fly all the way to the Intergalactic Union - a kind of alien United Nations organization.
Elio, with his passion for the wonderful universe, has made friends with intelligent creatures throughout the galaxy. The challenge comes when he negotiates with Grigon (Brad Garrett), the leader of the warlike Hylurgian tribe who wants to dominate the Intergalactic Empire. Here, Elio accidentally meets Grigon's son, Glordon (Remy Edgerly), a strange-looking creature with sharp teeth and a chubby body. Both of them are lonely, so they quickly become friends through sympathy.
Searching for the meaning of life
Elio has many similar plots to Disney's latest film, Lilo & Stitch, which is considered to be a synthesis of the strengths of both giants in the animation industry, such as: family love, beautiful friendship, how to face loneliness and find a useful purpose in life.
The film balances family and friendship. After all, Elio and Aunt Olga understand each other better and work together to save their beloved alien friend Glordon. Elio's decision to "return to Earth" honors the value of family affection.
The friendship between Elio and Glordon helped both of them grow up and live a more meaningful life than the lonely and boring life. Both of them became better versions of themselves and lived a more meaningful new life. Not only did Elio build a sincere relationship with his new friend Glordon, but he also helped Glordon and his father make up with each other.
Entertainment magazine Variety commented: “The film explains why people often think about the existence of aliens. Because sometimes lost souls like the boy Elio need a place to rely on on the path to finding their own good self.”
| Elio heals from loneliness, loss, resentment (from having no caring parents) and other troubles of cosmic proportions by connecting with strangers. The boy from Earth makes his biggest dream come true by standing up, correcting his shortcomings and mistakes. This message is very pleasing to parents when taking their children to the cinema for summer entertainment. |
