Railway staff assist passengers with moving luggage to transfer between Dong Ha station and Dong Hoi station.

Previously, on October 27, heavy rains due to the impact of storm No. 6 caused floodwaters to rise and overflow the Thong Nhat railway line in Quang Tri province. To ensure train safety, railway units blocked the Sa Lung - Tien An section and organized passenger transfers from Dong Ha station ( Quang Binh ) to Dong Hoi station (Quang Binh) and vice versa.

This morning (October 28), the water has receded, but it has washed away rocks, eroded the roadbed, and shifted the rails in the section Km587+800 - Km588+000, Km588+500 - Km588+900 in the Sa Lung bridge area (Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri province), making it impossible for trains to run.

Therefore, during the repair period, waiting for the route to be cleared, the railway continues to organize passenger transport. Accordingly, the train departs from Hanoi , transfers by car from Dong Hoi to Dong Ha, and continues the journey by train from Dong Ha station. The train departs from Saigon station, transfers by car from Dong Ha station to Dong Hoi station, and continues the journey by train from Dong Hoi station.

As of this morning, the railway industry has served free meals and safely transported nearly 2,500 passengers.
