Known as “Vietnam in miniature”, Thanh Hoa possesses rich, unique tourism resources of national and international value. With 102km of coastline, Thanh Hoa has created many beautiful coastal tourist areas such as Sam Son, Hai Tien, Hai Hoa... In particular, since 1907, Sam Son beach has been recognized by the French as “the best beach for health recovery”, due to its fresh air and ideal mineral salt content of the water. Up to now, Sam Son coastal tourist urban area has become increasingly vibrant, attracting millions of visitors each year. For many tourists, Sam Son is not only an ideal resort but also a place for them to immerse themselves in the unique folk cultural values of coastal residents such as: Doc Cuoc Temple Blessing Festival, Banh Chung - Banh Giay Festival, Cau Ngu - Swimming Festival... Along with street festivals or modern entertainment complexes, it is the traditional cultural experiences that help tourists better understand a dynamic, rich-in-identity coastal tourist area.
Along with the sea, Thanh Hoa also offers visitors attractive experiences when coming to the community tourism villages in the West. Pu Luong Community Ecotourism Area (Pu Luong Commune) is a typical example of the wild and majestic beauty that nature has bestowed here. Located in the West of the province, Pu Luong is a favorite destination for domestic and international tourists thanks to its diverse ecosystem, winding terraced fields on the mountainside and the peaceful and hospitable Thai villages. Coming to Pu Luong, visitors can admire the beauty of the primeval mountains and forests, immerse themselves in the daily life of the indigenous people, and enjoy dishes rich in the flavor of the mountains and forests such as hill chicken, grilled stream fish, grilled meat marinated with mac khen seeds, bamboo rice, and can wine...
Ms. Nguyen Hong Minh, a tourist from Hanoi, shared: “I am really impressed by the fresh air, beautiful scenery and especially the friendliness of the people here. This is not only a vacation, but also a journey that helps me slow down and connect more with nature and with myself.” Ms. Minh’s feelings are also what many tourists look for when choosing “green” destinations, close to Pu Luong, where every step can become a beautiful memory.

Besides nature, Thanh Hoa is also a land rich in identity with many valuable tangible and intangible cultural heritages. Notably, the Ho Dynasty Citadel - a World Cultural Heritage recognized by UNESCO since 2011. Built in the late 14th and early 15th centuries under the Ho Dynasty, this unique stone architectural work has stood the test of time and is a living testament to the talent and intelligence of the ancients. Visitors to the Ho Dynasty Citadel can not only admire the rare stone construction techniques, but can also feel the breath of a turbulent historical period. Along with that, traditional festivals such as Lam Kinh Festival, Nua - Am Tien Temple Festival, Ba Trieu Temple Festival... or folk songs, folk dances and rich cuisine have also contributed to the richness and depth of visitors' cultural experiences.
Mr. John Williams - BBC Studios Global Media and Online Company, BBC Media Group shared in a short interview when visiting Thanh Hoa Citadel (May 2024): "I never thought that Thanh Hoa would have such a magnificent heritage. Not only Thanh Hoa Citadel but also the heritages that I and the members of the delegation have passed through make me feel a very Vietnamese beauty - strong, profound and full of humanity". Mr. John Williams' feelings reflect an international perspective on cultural experiences when coming to Thanh, where the beauty is not ostentatious but attractive in its own way, subtle and full of historical depth.
Not only focusing on exploiting natural and cultural resources, Thanh Hoa has been making efforts to develop infrastructure and tourism services in a professional and sustainable manner to enhance the experience of tourists. Many high-class resorts and 4-5 star hotels have been present in key tourist areas of the province such as: Lasong Hotel & Villas, FLC Grand Hotel Samson, FLC Luxury Hotel Samson, Lamori Resort & Spa, MeliaVinpearl, Central, Muong Thanh Grand Thanh Hoa... bringing tourists classy accommodation experiences. In addition, the local tourism industry also focuses on training human resources, building unique tourism products and promoting images on digital platforms.
With the orientation of developing diverse tourism products with strong identity, Thanh Hoa is gradually shaping its own tourism brand - a place where tourists not only come to relax but also to explore, experience and connect. Here, each scene is a vivid natural picture, each encounter is a colorful cultural story, with the hope that each journey will bring visitors unforgettable experiences.
