Thanh Hoa tourism strives to welcome 16 million visitors by 2025

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - On the afternoon of June 24, comrade Nguyen Van Thi, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee chaired a conference to evaluate tourism development in the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2025. Attending the conference were representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches and localities.

Conference overview.

According to the report of the Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee, in the first 6 months of the year, 12/26 tasks have been completed and basically completed (reaching 42.2%), other tasks are continuing to be implemented.

Up to now, there are 57 tourism development plans in the province, of which 49 have been approved and 8 are under research. The total number of tourism investment projects is 76 (18 completed and 58 ongoing), with a total registered capital of about 152 trillion VND.

Representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism reported on tourism activities in the first 6 months of the year.

The province is focusing on promoting the development of three main product lines: sea tourism; cultural - historical - spiritual tourism; and community ecology. At the same time, many localities and businesses have actively developed and exploited a variety of new tourism products, contributing to enriching the experience of tourists and improving the seasonal factor in tourism activities.

Comrade Pham Nguyen Hong, Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism spoke at the conference.

As a result, in the first 6 months of the year, the whole province is estimated to welcome nearly 10.5 million visitors, an increase of 7.3% over the same period in 2024, reaching 65.6% of the 2025 plan; total revenue is estimated at over 26.3 trillion VND, an increase of 32.8% over the same period in 2024, reaching 57.9% of the 2025 plan.

However, besides the achieved results, the implementation of the CTPTDL still has some limitations related to clean land, project implementation progress, tourist market structure...

Based on the assessment of the achieved results and solutions to overcome difficulties and shortcomings, the report emphasizes the goal that in 2025, Thanh Hoa will welcome 16 million visitors, with total revenue reaching about 45.5 trillion VND.

Speaking at the conference, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Thi highly appreciated the initiative of departments, branches and localities in implementing tourism development tasks in the first 6 months of 2025. At the same time, he requested departments, branches and localities to focus on removing difficulties and strengthening State management in the tourism sector.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is the standing agency of the Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee, together with relevant departments, branches and localities, to research, deploy and synchronously implement solutions to improve the quality of tourism services and promote sustainable tourism development. Along with that, continue to review and advise the province to strengthen the Tourism Development Steering Committee to continue to effectively carry out the tasks set out in 2025.
