Trade union activities in the new situation

From July 1, 2025, the trade union organization will move to a new phase in the context of the whole country streamlining its organizational apparatus. Accordingly, each level of the trade union will also adjust its tasks to suit the requirements, tasks, objects, and types of gathering in the new situation. The main activities will be more focused on the grassroots, directly caring for union members and workers in enterprises.

According to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor, the ideological situation and mood of union members and employees are basically stable, they trust in the leadership of the Party and State, support the policy of restructuring and streamlining the apparatus to build a political system "Refined - Lean - Strong - Effective - Efficient - Effective" to meet the requirements of national development. In addition, a number of union members, cadres and civil servants are still concerned and worried about jobs, the settlement of redundant cadres and the payment of regimes and policies for cadres after the merger of provinces and communes and the dissolution of districts. We hope that the Party and State will soon issue specific guidance documents to create peace of mind for union members and employees.

While rushing to carry out the final tasks, trade unions at all levels have also urgently completed the tasks in the first 6 months of the year. Since the beginning of the year, the employment situation, income, and living conditions of union members and employees have been basically guaranteed; labor relations in enterprises have been maintained stably. Enterprises have strictly implemented regulations on paying salaries, Tet bonuses, Tet holidays and holidays to employees. The average salary of employees is about 6.9 million VND/month. In addition, some enterprises are being affected by the general impact of the world such as: Few orders, scarce raw materials and increased prices due to having to import from abroad..., so the employment situation and income of employees have been affected. Enterprises are implementing many solutions to stabilize production - business and maintain jobs for employees.

Provincial leaders visit and grasp the labor situation of workers

To date, 242 enterprises have negotiated and signed collective labor agreements (reaching 91.3%); 265 enterprises have organized workplace dialogues; 1,402/1,499 grassroots trade unions have participated in promulgating grassroots democracy regulations (reaching 93.5%); 5 more units and enterprises have adjusted the value of shift meals according to regulations, bringing the total number of units and enterprises organizing shift meals to 116. The Provincial Federation of Labor Legal Consulting Office and the grassroots trade union have provided consultation to 23 employees on unemployment benefits, leave of absence, social insurance book closing, maternity benefits, etc. The trade union also supports enterprises in recruiting workers, deploying and implementing consultation and recruitment plans in communes.

In the coming time, trade union activities will focus on completing the work of organizing the trade union apparatus from the provincial to the grassroots level under the direction of the Central Committee, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and local Party committees. Strive to successfully complete the targets, tasks and the theme of activities in 2025 "Focus on developing union members; participating in building a clean and strong Party". Accordingly, the role of trade unions in the new situation will focus mainly on enterprises, directly caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers, promoting the development of union members, and establishing grassroots trade unions. Along with that, strengthening the role of representation, caring for and protecting the rights of workers, especially workers in difficult circumstances; organizing negotiations and dialogues with employers to ensure the rights of workers.

The trade union coordinates to closely monitor and grasp the employment situation, life, aspirations of union members and employees, production and business activities of enterprises, especially those currently facing difficulties. At the same time, support enterprises in recruiting workers, accompany enterprises in developing stable and harmonious production to improve income, life and employment of union members and employees. Promote emulation movements at the grassroots level, promote labor productivity, product quality, work efficiency, and ensure labor safety. In particular, trade unions at all levels launch emulation movements for innovation and digital transformation at all levels; carry out projects and tasks to celebrate major events and holidays of the country and Party Congresses at all levels, term 2025 - 2030...
