According to information from the Ninh Binh Department of Tourism , the estimated number of visitors to tourist attractions in Ninh Binh province in February 2024 reached nearly 1.92 million, an increase of 56.3% over the same period last year. Of which, domestic visitors were 1.78 million, an increase of 50.7%; international visitors were 138,400, 2.9 times higher. The total number of visitors to accommodation establishments in the province is estimated at nearly 217,900, an increase of 62.7%; the number of days visitors stayed is estimated at 241,600, an increase of 64.6%. Tourism revenue in February 2024 is estimated at over VND 1,802.9 billion, 1.9 times higher than the same month last year.
The leader of Ninh Binh Department of Tourism said that the positive results in February 2024 were due to the favorable weather during the Lunar New Year holiday. In addition, localities and tourism businesses in the province proactively promoted their strengths, actively upgraded, supplemented, built and renewed tourism products to increase new experiences, creating highlights to attract a large number of tourists.
In addition to decorating to create a spring atmosphere, businesses also implement incentive programs and gratitude to customers such as free opening, discounting many product and service packages to attract tourists. Therefore, the number of visitors to tourist destinations in the province increased significantly compared to the same period.
On the occasion of the 2024 Giap Thin Lunar New Year, Hoa Lu Ancient Town (Ninh Binh City) has been expanded with the addition of new stalls and many experiences for visitors during Tet such as shopping for specialties, enjoying street food, lakeside coffee, checking in at the pontoon bridge in the middle of Ky Lan Lake, enjoying art programs... Notably, the Tet Xua market was held in Hoa Lu Ancient Town, along with many cultural activities such as the Ethnic Music Festival, ethnic musical instrument concert at Thap Bac... Hoa Lu Ancient Town said that in February 2024, it welcomed and served about 70,000 visitors, the peak was during the Tet holiday, there were days when it welcomed about 10,000 visitors, a sharp increase compared to the same period last year.
Thung Nham Eco-tourism Area said that during the recent Tet holiday, Thung Nham welcomed about 65,000 visitors and guests, an increase of about 55% compared to the same period last year. The highlight of this occasion was the art program "Thung Nham - Spring Sonata" which lasted on the nights of the 3rd, 4th and 5th of Tet and was open to the public, attracting a large number of visitors to experience Thung Nham at night and attend the event. The room occupancy rate at the tourist area reached 100% from the night of the 2nd to the end of the night of the 8th of Tet.
"During Tet, there are days when the tourist area welcomes about 12,000 visitors. Although there are many visitors, the space here is large and the experiences are diverse, so there is no congestion. Visitors passing through the gate can choose to visit the roadside attractions (spiritual worship cluster, cave system, flower island in the garden...) or choose to take a boat to visit But cave, bird garden", said a representative of Thung Nham Eco-tourism Area.
In the first two months of this year, the number of visitors to tourist attractions in Ninh Binh is estimated at nearly 2.71 million, an increase of 16.6% compared to the first two months of 2023, of which domestic visitors reached nearly 2.49 million, an increase of 11.1%; international visitors were about 227,500, 2.5 times higher.
The total number of visitors to accommodation establishments in Ninh Binh province in the first two months of 2024 is estimated at 419,500, up 59.4%; the number of days guests stay is estimated at 464,700, up 57.4%. Tourism revenue in the two months is estimated at over VND 2,538.7 billion, up 43.2% over the same period last year, of which hotel revenue is VND 150.4 billion, up 36.4%; restaurant revenue is VND 1,149.0 billion, up 19.2%.
