About 3,000 athletes are expected to participate in the Quang Tri Marathon 2024.

This morning, April 4, the Organizing Committee of the Quang Tri Marathon 2024 had a working session with the delegation of the Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper and the consulting and operating unit of the Quang Tri Marathon 2024 - Journey to the Land of Fire, Vu Media Joint Stock Company (VRace) to agree on some important contents.

Accordingly, the 2024 Quang Tri Provincial Marathon with the theme "Journey to the Land of Fire" will be held on June 15 and 16, 2024 with 3 distances of 21 km, 10 km and 5 km.

Specifically, the opening ceremony of the event will take place on the night of June 15 at Liberation Square (Quang Tri town) with activities such as releasing pigeons, performing arts, interacting with Citadel veterans, famous Vietnamese marathon athletes, giving gifts to policy families, releasing flower lanterns... This is a tournament expected to create new tourism products, and at the same time, athletes participating in the tournament will contribute to supporting the Gratitude Fund of Quang Tri province.

Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Minh Tuan, Head of the Organizing Committee, hopes that the tournament will be a great success, attracting a large number of athletes to participate, becoming a prestigious and annual sporting event. Quang Tri will create the best conditions for the tournament to be successfully organized.

The tournament is expected to attract about 3,000 athletes and about 10,000 tourists to Quang Tri during the tournament. With the first time organizing a major marathon, the organizing committee will carefully survey the logistics, especially the accommodation of athletes as well as tourists. The People's Committee of Quang Tri province will create the best conditions for food, accommodation, and travel for members of the organizing committee and athletes. Restaurant and hotel systems will have their prices listed.

Mr. Le Trong Dam, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament, said that up to this point, the Organizing Committee has opened the BIB sales. It is expected that by the end of April 2024, the Organizing Committee will hold a press conference.
