On September 2, Mr. Bui Quoc Thai - Director of the Department of Tourism of An Giang province - said that during the 4-day September 2 holiday (from August 30 to September 2), An Giang welcomed more than 385,200 visitors, an increase of more than 4% over the same period.
Of which, Phu Quoc special zone welcomed more than 81,400 visitors (up nearly 8% over the same period), nearly 18,000 international visitors; room occupancy rate reached nearly 60%. Total tourism revenue of the whole province reached 511 billion VND.
On this September 2nd holiday, the locality always ensures traffic safety, security and order, and does not allow any tourist solicitation, selling at the listed price.
Some tourism service businesses in Phu Quoc have promotional programs to attract customers.

Mr. Thai added An Giang has outstanding advantages and tourism resources such as plains, mountains, forests and islands. Tourists can visit the destinations on their own from Ba Chua Xu Temple on Sam Mountain to Cam Mountain, Tri Ton to Ha Tien, Phu Quoc.
However Due to the impact of thunderstorms, tourism activities in Phu Quoc, Nam Du and Hon Son islands were limited. Competition among domestic tourist destinations was high. The 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2 also shared the source of tourists from the localities.
"This year's September 2nd holiday is close to the school opening day and especially this is not the peak time for international visitors. The connection between tourist areas and spots in the Mekong Delta is not convenient, so the number of visitors has only increased slightly," said Mr. Thai.
