For the first time in history, Vietnam will become the center of world billiards when hosting a series of 3 large-scale international tournaments, including: Men's 10-Ball Pool World Championship, Poison Cues Saigon Women's 9-Ball Open, and Box Billiards Mixed Doubles Open.
The 2025 Predator WPA Men's 10-Ball World Championship will take place at Military Zone 7 Stadium (HCMC) from September 17 to 28. This is also the first time in history that Vietnam has hosted a 10-ball pool billiards world championship.
At the same time, Vietnam also became the third country to have the honor of hosting the 10-ball pool world championship, after the Philippines and the United States - two world billiards pool powerhouses.
All three events, including the Men's 10-ball Pool World Championship, Box Billiards Mixed Doubles Open and Poison Cues Saigon Women's 9-ball Open, are co-organized by Box Billiards, Predator and the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation (HBSF).
The event officially opened on the evening of September 19, the matches of the 2025 Men's 10-ball Pool World Championship finals began on September 20 and ended on September 28.
The total prize value of the event series is up to 425,000 USD (about 11.2 billion VND), of which the prize money for the 2025 Men's 10-Ball Pool World Championship alone is 250,000 USD (nearly 6.6 billion VND). The Men's 10-Ball Pool World Champion will receive 70,000 USD (1.8 billion VND), the runner-up 40,000 USD and the two third-place players will receive 17,500 USD.
The 2025 Men's 10-Ball Pool World Championship brings together 96 of the world's top players, including many big names such as defending champion Carlo Biado, Fedor Gorst, Joshua Filler, Shane Van Boening, Eklent Kaci, Ko Pin Yi, Ko Ping Chung,...
Vietnam also has two players participating in the final round, Duong Quoc Hoang and Pham Phuong Nam. In addition, other Vietnamese players still have the opportunity to participate through the warm-up round.
In the first phase, the tournament will apply a double elimination format (2 lives), with 96 players competing in a winner-loser bracket to find the 32 best players. From the Last 32 round, players will compete in a knockout round to find the champion.
