According to the news from the Nghe An Province Hydrometeorological Station, during the day and night of August 25, the entire province will be directly affected by storm No. 5, causing heavy rain and strong winds, especially dangerous in coastal areas.

Due to the impact of the storm, the weather in Nghe An province will have complex and dangerous developments during the day and night of August 25.

Detailed forecast for areas:

  • Mountainous and midland areas: Cloudy, with storms. Winds will gradually increase to level 5-6, then increase to level 7-8. Areas near the storm's center can experience winds of level 9-10, gusting to level 11. Temperatures in these areas range from 23-29oC, humidity remains high at 90-95%.
  • Coastal plains: This is the area heavily affected by the storm. Cloudy, with stormy rain. Winds are forecast to gradually increase to level 6-8, then increase to level 9-10. In particular, areas near the storm's center will have strong winds of level 10-11, gusting to level 13. Temperatures range from 24 - 29oC.
  • Cua Lo and Ngu Island Area: This is where the strongest winds are forecast. Cloudy, with stormy rain. The wind will gradually increase to level 7-9, then increase to level 10-11. When the storm center passes, the wind can reach level 12-14, gusting to level 16.

Forecast for the next 48 hours

According to forecasts, in the next 48 hours, storm No. 5 will gradually weaken into a low pressure area after making landfall. However, Nghe An will continue to have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy rain. Winds on land will decrease to level 4 - 5.

The meteorological agency warns that during thunderstorms, people need to be extremely cautious of dangerous weather phenomena that may occur such as tornadoes, hail and strong gusts of wind.
