A meaningful festival, in the context of Nam Giang preparing to enter a new era: reorganizing commune-level administrative units, ending the operation of district-level units” - Mr. Son shared.

Unlike previous participations, this year, artisan Bhling Hanh (in Cong Don village, Zuoi commune) came to the festival with many indescribable emotions. Not only is it an opportunity to exchange and learn experiences in preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the people, the festival also marks the past journey of the local people. Therefore, elder Bhling Hanh said, no matter how busy he is, he will try to participate and fully complete the task that the community trusts.

“This is also an opportunity for us to meet and teach our children how to preserve traditional culture. The cultural identity of the ethnic groups in Nam Giang district is very good and beautiful, so for over 40 years I have tried my best to preserve and teach it.

In the future, although it is no longer at the district level, we hope that the cultural festival will continue to be inherited and organized at the new commune level so that people can exchange, learn and contribute to the work of preserving their identity" - Elder Bhling Hanh confided.

Strengthening solidarity

Mr. Le Van Huong - Secretary of Nam Giang District Party Committee said that over the 77 years of establishment, Nam Giang has always preserved and promoted the cultural identity of ethnic groups in the area, considering it a consistent and inseparable development goal.

This year, the festival takes place in a very special context, and is also an opportunity for local people to review the glorious revolutionary tradition of their heroic homeland Nam Giang. This is also a way to honor and affirm that the cultural identity of ethnic groups is always preserved, promoted and widely spread.

From this event, the Nam Giang community is determined to further strengthen the great national unity bloc, arouse the endogenous strength from cultural identity values, and make tangible and intangible culture increasingly developed and enriched.

According to Mr. Huong, the festival is an opportunity for the sound of gongs and cymbals to resound amidst the majestic mountains and forests, for the artisans to flourish in each dance and drum beat; for the young generation to love, understand and be more proud of their homeland and cultural identity.

“This process will have a significant impact on the feelings, habits and long-standing attachment of local people. However, with the tradition of solidarity, revolutionary spirit and deep love for the homeland, I believe that the people of all ethnic groups in Nam Giang district will continue to unite to overcome difficulties and continue the journey of comprehensive and sustainable development,” Mr. Huong emphasized.
