New move by Thai billionaire after continuously unsuccessfully collecting Vinamilk shares

Having just collected more than 20 million shares from late 2024 to early 2025 but failed, F&N Dairy Investments PTE. Ltd - a company of Thai billionaire Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi - continued to register to buy back.

F&N Dairy Investments PTE. Ltd - a Singapore-based company related to Thai billionaire Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi - has just reported to the Securities Commission about registering to buy more VNM shares of Vinamilk.

Specifically, this foreign shareholder wants to buy nearly 20.9 million more VNM shares for investment purposes. The transaction method is negotiated and matched through the floor, from January 17 to February 14.

If the transaction is successful, F&N Dairy Investments will increase its ownership from more than 369.7 million shares, equivalent to 17.69% of Vinamilk's capital, to 18.69%, equivalent to more than 390.6 million shares.

Notably, last year this foreign shareholder registered to buy VNM many times to increase ownership ratio but all failed.

Most recently, between December 16, 2024 and January 14, 2025, F&N Dairy Investments also collected more than 20 million VNM shares but failed.

The reason is unsuitable market conditions, F&N Dairy Investments leaders said in a report to the Securities Commission.

According to the 2023 annual report, F&N Dairy Investments Pte Ltd is the second largest shareholder in Vinamilk, after SCIC - a state shareholder holding 36% of capital.

F&N Dairy Investments Pte Ltd is listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange, principally engaged in the food and beverage industry.

F&N Dairy Investments is a subsidiary of beverage group Fraser & Neave. Meanwhile, TCC Holding, part of billionaire Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi's business ecosystem, acquired Fraser & Neave in 2013.

Meanwhile, Mr. Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi is also the founder of Thai Beverage - a corporation that indirectly controls 53.6% of the shares of Saigon Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Corporation ( Sabeco ).

Regarding Vinamilk, this is the company with the largest milk market share in Vietnam. Regarding business performance, the revenue in the first 9 months of this dairy company reached 46,338 billion VND, profit after tax reached 7,306 billion VND.
