The first highlight lies in the way traditional cultural elements are recreated with depth without being cliché. With De Men, it is not simply a 3D version of a classic literary work, but a creative adaptation that incorporates many images reminiscent of regional culture. From the character creation such as Tong Coc with his traditional dress and turban stylized from a roll of tape, to the lively space of the hamlet of Lay Loi with its tea hills and ponds... all evoke a Vietnam that is both familiar and flexible in visual imagination.
In De Men , the imaginary world of insects still bears the Vietnamese cultural characteristics through visual materials and stylized images. Even when the film incorporates popular cultural elements such as the character Genie (Aladdin) or American cinema icons, it does not obscure the identity, but only proves the flexibility in cultural expression.
Meanwhile, Trang Quynh nhi: Kim Nguu legend exploits the treasure trove of folk legends such as Cuu Vi Ho, Trau Vang, the legend of Lac Long Quan - Au Co, but renews it with emotional storytelling and eye-catching cinematic visuals. The symbols associated with the West Lake area or Kim Nguu pagoda are treated as part of the unified Vietnamese mythological universe, not only reminiscent but also creating a sense of epic closeness for young audiences.
The Northern countryside space with wells, communal house yards in Trang Quynh nhi , or the image of bamboo bridges, dikes, the four-panel dress, and skirts... are the filmmaker's way of evoking collective memories, creating emotional bridges between generations.

The biggest difference between these works and many previous traditional illustrative animations is that Vietnamese cultural elements are not "framed" in old symbols. Instead, culture is conveyed with a new rhythm of life, through music , images, tones... Music in both films plays a key role, not only illustrating but also telling stories, building character personalities and creating cultural layers. A nursery rhyme or a quan ho melody in rap rhythm does not lose its traditional character, but on the contrary, makes Vietnamese culture come alive, strange yet familiar. This is not just a matter of sound addition, but a successful test in transforming traditional spirit into the entertainment life of young audiences.
As the screenwriter Pham Dinh Hai of Trang Quynh nhi: The Legend of Kim Nguu said : "In the movie Trang Quynh , the cultural symbol we chose is the buffalo. It is an element representing the rice civilization, familiar not only to Vietnamese audiences but also has a certain recognition in the world. Taking the buffalo as the central cultural symbol, building the story around that symbol, with full of life, legend, fantasy, action, key and emotional elements. Only then can we truly promote the cultural symbol (the buffalo) to the audience, especially young audiences."
