During the above period, the depth of the 4‰ salinity boundary that is likely to penetrate the Vam Co Dong and Vam Co Tay rivers is 35-47km; the Cua Tieu and Cua Dai rivers is 25-30km; the Ham Luong and Co Chien rivers is 30-36km; the Hau river is 30-35km; and the Cai Lon river is 45-50km.

Saline intrusion in the Mekong Delta in the 2022-2023 dry season is at the same level as the 2021-2022 dry season. The saline intrusion situation in the Mekong Delta depends on water sources from the upper Mekong River, high tides and will fluctuate in the coming time. Localities in the Mekong Delta need to promptly update hydrometeorological forecast information and take proactive measures to prevent and combat saline intrusion. Warning level of natural disaster risk due to saline intrusion in the Mekong Delta: level 1-2

In the face of this situation, localities need to take advantage of storing fresh water during low tides to serve agriculture and people's lives, and at the same time limit irrigation to minimize production losses. For areas growing fruit trees with high economic value and low salinity tolerance, people need to check the salinity concentration before watering.

Localities regularly disseminate information about the saltwater intrusion situation on mass media so that people and relevant organizations can proactively prevent the effects of saltwater intrusion...
