Previously, at around 3:00 p.m. on August 18, a wooden fishing boat with license plate TH-92056.TS, captained and owner of the vessel by Mr. Ha Van Thiet (born in 1986, from Tien Trang commune, Thanh Hoa province), was traveling on the waters of Tran island when a large wave suddenly broke the bow of the boat. The incident caused the boat to quickly sink.
At the time of the accident, there were captain Ha Van Thiet and 9 crew members on board. Immediately after receiving the fishermen's report, Dao Tran Border Guard Station quickly deployed support measures and notified vehicles operating near the area of the ship in distress for rescue.
By 4 p.m. the same day, all 10 fishermen of the TH-92056.TS ship were safely rescued by nearby fishing vessels. By 5 p.m., the QN-80064.TS seafood purchasing vessel had brought all the fishermen in distress to Vung Tay port and handed them over to Dao Tran Border Post.
At the Station, the unit leaders kindly visited, encouraged, checked the health, arranged accommodation and provided necessary necessities for the fishermen in distress at sea.
Moved by the timely care and assistance of the officers and soldiers of Dao Tran Border Post, Captain Ha Van Thiet, on behalf of the crew, wrote a handwritten letter expressing deep gratitude for the timely support in both spirit and material, arranging food, drinking water, and accommodation when the fishermen were in trouble.
Currently, Dao Tran Border Guard Station is continuing to verify the incident and support the fishermen in carrying out the necessary legal procedures.
