Vietnam petanque team wins world championship for the first time

Participating in the World Petanque Championship held in Thailand from November 23 to November 27, the Vietnamese women's team made history with a gold medal in the trio event and a silver medal in the individual technique event.

The 4 players representing the Vietnamese team competing in the women's trio event are Thach Thi Anh Lan ( Tra Vinh ), Kim Thi Thu Thao ( Tra Vinh ), Tran Thi Diem Trang (Binh Duong), Trinh Thi Kim Thanh (Binh Duong).

In the semi-finals, the Vietnamese girls excellently defeated the French team with a score of 13-10 to reach the final. In the final match against Thailand, the Vietnamese women's team won a thrilling 13-12 to win the precious gold medal.

In the individual technical event, Thach Thi Anh Lan (Tra Vinh) also won a silver medal after losing to her opponent Myanmar in the final match.
