According to 3DNews , although it is only a concept and may never appear on the market, Motorola has clearly demonstrated the ability of modern flexible display technology, which is that it can bend according to the user's request. The company demonstrated that the concept can bend in many different ways when wrapped around the wrist or when placed on a table.

Flexible concept to be worn on the wrist

When worn on the wrist, the smartphone changes the way it displays images, for example, apps appear at the top of the screen. A Motorola spokesperson said the device is “context-aware,” meaning the phone adapts depending on how it’s bent. The company described the mechanism that allows the smartphone to bend as similar to the structure of the human spine.

During the demonstration, the company representative took a photo of a dress with the camera on his concept smartphone, then created a wallpaper based on this photo. This turned the product into an interesting fashion accessory.

Some images of the concept at MWC 2024

Motorola's parent company Lenovo also showed off its concept laptop with a transparent screen at MWC 2024. There's no guarantee that all of these devices will make it to production, but it's a glimpse into what future tech devices could look like.
