Within the framework of the survey trip to grasp the situation of coastal seas and islands in 2025, on April 12, the Vietnam Coast Guard delegation together with leaders of Quang Ninh, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh provinces and related agencies and units visited, worked, and presented gifts to agencies, units, households in difficult circumstances and students who have overcome difficulties to excel in their studies in Bach Long Vi island district, Hai Phong city.

The delegation also conducted a survey, grasped the situation of Bach Long Vi island's sea area and discussed with district leaders about the implementation of socio -economic development projects, ensuring national defense, security, order and safety at sea, developing the marine economy and preventing and combating IUU fishing.

On the occasion, localities, units and enterprises participating in the Working Group presented 95 gifts to agencies, units, households with difficult circumstances and students who have overcome difficulties to excel in their studies in the island district. In particular, the Quang Ninh Provincial Delegation presented souvenirs to the island district and presented 10 gifts to households with difficult circumstances in the area.

At the gift-giving ceremony, the delegation also disseminated regulations on preventing illegal and unreported fishing, combined with presenting gifts and national flags to fishermen working in the Bach Long Vi sea area.

Previously, on the afternoon of April 11, the working delegation held a memorial service for 9 officers and staff of flight CASA-212, number 8983, who heroically sacrificed their lives while on duty at sea and fishermen who died while working and living in this area.
