Stopping right before the final night of Talent Rendezvous, Lieutenant - singer Mai Chi left many regrets in the hearts of the audience and judges because of her technical and emotional singing voice but still could not fully demonstrate the qualities of an all-round artist that the program aimed for.

Nothing but the voice

Sharing with VietNamNet reporter, Mai Chi could not hide her regret at having to stop before the final round. As a mother, she had to struggle a lot before daring to accept the invitation to participate in the contest. But it was that journey that helped her find a bold, new version of herself.

Lieutenant Nguyen Mai Chi made Ho Ngoc Ha admire her for performing well the two hits "Canh hoa tan" and "Bong phu hoa" on stage of "Diem hen tai tai" episode 2.

"When I decided to join the show, I had to consider a lot because I had a small child and many other things that could distract me. But I was still determined to go all the way because I wanted to explore aspects of myself that I had never tried before. I was sad because I had planned to save my most special performance for the final night - a performance that people had never seen from me before. It's a pity that I no longer had the chance to show that. But this is a competition and when you play, you have to accept the results," Mai shared.

Throughout the rounds, Mai Chi always tried her best not only to convince the judges but also to hope that the audience could feel the passion she put into each performance. As a soldier, Mai Chi always emphasized the spirit of meticulousness and seriousness in everything, including art. She joined the program with many worries, because looking around, she saw that the other contestants were young and modern.

"I have nothing but my voice. At first, I was very self-conscious because I saw that other contestants were dynamic and stylish while I only had a voice. But I tried my best to exploit myself to fit the competition's criteria. I wanted to prove that I could do it. For me, every competition night is a battle. I want to appear in the most impressive way. Each round is a time for me to learn something new, both in terms of performance skills and how to master the stage," Mai Chi shared.

In the final night of the competition, Mai Chi boldly tried her hand at a completely different performance. This was the first time she performed a rock song - a big step forward for a singer who is used to gentle, lyrical genres.

"I don't know how the audience will perceive it, but I'm really happy to do it. It's a true rock song that I breathe life into in my own way. I want to show everyone that even old songs can reach young audiences in a new way."

Mai Chi sees each challenge of the show as an opportunity to push her limits. For her, Talent Rendezvous is not just a competition but a memorable journey of self -discovery .

"I am grateful to the program for creating a playground where we can try things we have never dared to do before. And more importantly, I have 11 new friends - who are both competitors and real brothers and sisters in the music family. We support each other at all times, especially professionally," the female singer expressed.

With what she has experienced, Mai Chi does not consider stopping as a failure. On the contrary, she believes that it can be the starting door for other journeys in a more brilliant career.

It was this special performing environment that trained her not only in vocal technique but also in character and personality. In deep streams, high passes, in the middle of the forest or the ocean, Mai Chi's singing voice rose like a soldier's heart. She once brought her singing to international stages such as Army Games.

The first MV "Carrying a child to daycare" made many people cry when it told about the love from the rear for soldiers in the midst of the storm. The MV is like a gift to Truong Sa and border guards across the country.
