This morning (June 20), Minister Nguyen Kim Son took the stage to answer questions from National Assembly deputies about hot issues inthe education sector.

Delegate Tran Thi Thu Hang ( Dak Nong ) cited the ministry's report, assessing that the situation of 'disguised tutoring' in many forms is still quite common, showing that there is still a gap between policy and practice . ( see details )

Teachers in Ho Chi Minh City have the highest salaries in the country, some receive more than 400 million VND/year.

Currently, the income of public teachers in Ho Chi Minh City is quite high. In addition to salaries and benefits according to state regulations, teachers also receive additional income according to the resolution of the City People's Council to pilot a number of special policies and mechanisms.

Not long ago, a teacher in Ho Chi Minh City publicly announced his income in 2023 as 412 million VND. On average, about 34 million/month. This teacher has been teaching since 1995, and has been in the profession for 30 years.

The Ministry of Education and Training has just issued a decision to suspend the training activities of Ha Hoa Tien University (Ha Nam). The suspension period is 12 months from June 17, 2025.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the reason for the suspension is that Ha Hoa Tien University violated the provisions of Point b and Point d, Clause 1, Article 101 of Decree No. 125/2024/ND-CP dated October 5, 2024 of the Government regulating conditions for investment and operation in the field of education. Receiving and explaining at the meeting, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son said that the construction of these two resolutions was done with a spirit of "high enthusiasm", because the process received support and consensus from the people, even urging them to do it quickly.
