As one of the majors with an almost absolute standard score, many people say that only outstanding high school students have the opportunity to be admitted to the health major, especially in medicine and dentistry.
However, the benchmark scores for health majors in 2025 at some top schools in Ho Chi Minh City are starting to decrease. Is it possible that this trend is starting to "cool down"?

Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy has a standard score ranging from 17 to 27.34 points. Medicine still holds the highest position with 27.34 points (a slight decrease of 0.34 points compared to last year), dentistry ranked second with 26.45 points (a decrease of 0.9 points).
Compared to last year, some majors have had their benchmark scores drop sharply. For example, midwifery, nutrition, preventive medicine, traditional medicine, and nursing have dropped more than 3 points.
Specifically: In 2024, the midwifery industry has a benchmark score of 22.8 points, by 2025 it will decrease to 18 points; the nursing industry from 24.03 points will decrease to 20.15 points; the nutrition industry has the sharpest benchmark score decrease, from 24.1 points last year to 19.25 points (down 4.85 points).
For the University of Health Sciences - VNU-HCM , the admission score based on high school graduation exam scores ranges from 18 to 25.6 points. Meanwhile, in 2024, the school's admission score ranges from 22 to 26.4 points.
The medical industry still retains the highest benchmark score, but will decrease from 26.4 points to 25.6 points for 2025.
Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine in Ho Chi Minh City has a benchmark score ranging from 18 to 25.55 points. Public health and nutrition have the lowest benchmark scores. Medicine leads the benchmark score with 25.55 points, but is still down more than 1 point compared to 2024.
This year, the school recruits 1,920 students for 12 training majors, of which medicine has the largest enrollment with 790 students.
Candidates who pass their admission wishes and enroll on time will receive a 30% scholarship for the first semester tuition fee of Hong Bang International University.
Hong Bang International University announced the standard score ranging from 15 to 20.5 points. The health science group including medicine and dentistry has a standard score of 20.5 points, pharmacy and traditional medicine has a standard score of 19 points.
Nursing, midwifery, rehabilitation technology, medical testing technology and medical imaging technology have a benchmark score of 17 points.
Similarly, Nguyen Tat Thanh University also set the standard score for medicine and dentistry at 20.5 points.
The standard scores for pharmacy and traditional medicine are 19 points based on high school graduation exam scores and 21 points based on high school transcripts.
