On May 24, DIC Group held a ceremony to celebrate its 35th anniversary with the theme “Evergreen Symphony”. This is not only an opportunity to look back on its impressive development journey but also a strong affirmation of its commitment to sustainable development, associated with environmental, social and governance (ESG) responsibilities.
Previously, the award "Top 10 ESG-implementing Enterprises in 2024" at Vietnam ESG Awards demonstrated the operating philosophy of focusing on people and the planet, contributing to shaping a "green" journey for the Vietnamese real estate industry.

The journey from startup to green identity
Established in 1990 as a state-owned enterprise under the Ministry of Construction , DIC started with civil infrastructure projects in Vung Tau. Over the past three decades, DIC has grown to become a multi-industry corporation, focusing on real estate, urban development and finance. From Chi Linh (Vung Tau), Nam Vinh Yen (Vinh Phuc), Dai Phuoc (Dong Nai) to Victory City (Hau Giang), DIC has made its mark with well-planned projects, creating modern, convenient and environmentally friendly living spaces for tens of thousands of residents.
The difference of DIC lies not only in the speed of expansion but also in the way the group chooses its development path by consistently combining economic growth with social and environmental responsibility. In the context of the real estate market facing many fluctuations such as liquidity pressure, legal issues and changes in consumer behavior, DIC is significantly affected by adverse fluctuations, but still steadfastly develops based on the main pillars of "green construction, promoting transparent governance and increasing social values in all activities".

Workshop (discussion) "Understanding ESG and sustainable development" attracted more than 1,000 employees organized by DIC in December 2024.
Instead of chasing short-term profits, DIC prioritizes building sustainable values, taking ESG as a strategic foundation. In 2024, the group recorded total revenue of VND 1,439 billion, profit after tax of VND 101.9 billion, total assets of VND 18,539.3 billion and equity of VND 8,041.3 billion.
Along with that, this group paid more than 197.2 billion VND to the State budget and contributed more than 7 billion VND to community activities. If considered in the entire period of 2020-2024, the group has contributed more than 1,550 billion VND to the budget and community activities.
Over the past year, DIC has continuously invested in community programs such as “Thousands of Tet gifts”, “Union Tet Market”, “Voluntary blood donation” or “Nurturing green talents”. These activities not only demonstrate social responsibility but also strengthen the trust of the community, partners and shareholders, becoming intangible assets that help DIC overcome challenges and maintain growth momentum.

ESG: A compass for integration and sustainable development
In the context of globalization, ESG is no longer a trend but a prerequisite for long-term development. DIC is one of the pioneering Vietnamese real estate enterprises integrating ESG into its core strategy. Since 2021, the group has applied the international standard GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) in its sustainable development report. By 2024, the cooperation with EY Vietnam marks a step forward in transparency and internationalization of corporate governance. DIC announced the roadmap to implement the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, towards Net Zero, prioritizing the development of green buildings, saving energy and reducing carbon emissions in all new projects.
DIC turns ESG into its internal culture through concrete actions. At the 35th anniversary, the ESG exhibition area became a highlight, recreating the sustainability journey through images, stories and artifacts - from works using recycled materials, solar energy systems to community programs such as "DIC Shelter" or "DIC Sows Sustainable Seeds".

The workshop “Understanding ESG and Sustainable Development” attracted more than 1,000 employees, while the “Ring the Golden Bell” contest created a creative playground, helping employees from the parent company to affiliated units consolidate ESG knowledge. The “Green Culture at Workplace” movement and activities to exchange recycled gifts such as cups, cloth bags, notebooks, etc. gradually formed responsible consumption habits among the team.
Most recently, on June 10, DIC also demonstrated its pioneering role in the green transformation journey by being one of the first enterprises to join the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City Green Business Association (HGBA). HGBA is built as a pioneering business community in promoting sustainable development, protecting the environment and applying green solutions in production and business.
“Sustainable development for DIC is not a short-distance race but a long-distance marathon,” the company's Sustainability Report wrote.
According to DIC, this requires endurance and responsibility beyond personal interests, but is also the only way to long-term development. It is the “soft” values such as reputation, corporate culture and community trust that have become the levers that help DIC stand firm and develop.
DIC also promotes international integration through ESG. Applying IFRS financial reporting standards, enhancing information disclosure and participating in sustainable development alliances helps DIC promote the image of a public company with a culture of information transparency, enhancing the brand value and products and services of the group. Projects such as DIC Victory City or DIC Nam Vinh Yen are oriented to become integrated urban areas, both improving the quality of life and creating long-term value. At the same time, DIC invests in research and development (R&D), applying technology in urban design, energy saving and waste management, ready to compete on the global stage.

ESG is not just a call, but has become a culture at DIC.
At the age of 35, DIC not only owns thousands of square meters of modern urban areas but also holds intangible assets: reputation, transparent management and responsible corporate culture. DIC's journey is a model for Vietnamese enterprises in the era of sustainable development to become a global "passport". That "green" symphony will continue to resonate, not only within DIC but also contribute to shaping the green economic future of Vietnam in the next decade.
