Previously, at around 4:00 p.m. the same day, Mr. Doan Van R. (born in 1960) took his grandson Doan Van B. (born in 2008) to catch shrimp at Tho Don beach, Quang Tho ward.

While pulling the shrimp, Mr. R. discovered that his grandson was being swept away by the water, so he swam out to rescue him. However, due to the strong current, both grandfather and grandson were swept away by the water.

Upon discovering the incident, local residents reported it to the local authorities and the rescue team. After about 30 minutes, the two men were brought to shore but were both dead.

B. is the second child in a family of 3 siblings. He is studying in grade 10 at the VocationalEducation Center of Ba Don town. His father passed away in 2018. His family is near-poor.
