Nearly 400 tourists in Hai Tien beach evacuated to avoid storm

(Dan Tri) - Nearly 400 tourists staying at two tourist facilities on the Hai Tien coast, in Hoang Tien commune, Thanh Hoa province, cannot return home due to storm No. 3 and will be relocated inland to avoid the storm.

Nearly 400 tourists stranded at two coastal accommodations in Hai Tien, Hoang Tien commune, Thanh Hoa province, will be evacuated inland to avoid storm No. 3. These tourists cannot return home due to the storm's impact.

Mr. Ta Quang Thuyet, from Nghe An, along with his wife and two children, followed a company group from Bac Ninh to Hai Tien beach on July 20. According to the plan, the group would return at noon on July 22, but the storm prevented them from traveling.

“The company’s delegation went on a trip on July 20 and was scheduled to return at noon on July 22. The company is arranging for staff and workers to avoid the storm. When safety is assured, the whole delegation will return. My family is planning to take a bus back to Nghe An, but we have been trying to contact the bus for a long time without success,” Thuyet shared.

Mr. Le Minh Phuc, Head of the Department of Culture and Society of Hoang Tien commune, confirmed that nearly 400 tourists at 2 accommodation establishments in the area could not return home due to the impact of the storm.

“Currently, the storm is making landfall directly in the northern provinces. In Hai Tien sea, there is very heavy rain and strong winds due to the influence of the storm circulation. Implementing the flood and storm prevention plans of the Central Government, the province and the locality are very concerned about the safety of tourists.

The local government has developed plans and coordinated with businesses to bring tourists deeper into other facilities inland. Only when safety is ensured will tourists be allowed to return,” Mr. Phuc shared.

Speaking to reporters, Ms. Vuong Thi Hai Yen, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa, informed that up to now, there have been no recorded damages to people or facilities at tourist areas.

“The Department has established inspection teams at key tourist areas in the province. For tourists staying at two establishments in Hai Tien beach whose registration period has expired and they cannot return due to storms.

The Department has directed localities and accommodation establishments to develop plans to bring tourists further inland, ensuring the safety of life and property and providing maximum support for tourists during the storm.

For other tourist and accommodation establishments in the area, there is currently an order to close, not receive guests, and ensure absolute safety during the storm avoidance period," Ms. Yen added.
