Hanoi National University announces enrollment targets for 2025

(Dan Tri) - In 2025, Hanoi National University will enroll more than 20,000 full-time university students.

In addition, this unit has just announced the quota for the work-study system and the second training program (dual degree) in 2025 for training units under Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU).

The school notes that training units are responsible for developing plans to allocate enrollment quotas for majors/groups of majors/training programs in accordance with current regulations and comply with quality assurance regulations of the Ministry ofEducation & Training and VNU.

Last year, 13 units of Hanoi National University recruited 18,000 full-time university students for 150 majors/training programs.

Last year's admission methods included: direct admission, priority admission and university preparation; considering the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam; considering the results of the competency assessment exam (HSA) organized by Hanoi National University; considering according to other methods.

Regarding the high school graduation exam results, Hanoi National University will announce the threshold to ensure input quality after the Ministry of Education and Training announces the exam scores. Expected time is before July 21.

With HSA exam scores, candidates need to achieve a minimum of 80/150 points to be eligible for admission.

For the group of other methods, the input thresholds are specified as follows: A-Level from 60/100 points per subject, SAT from 1100/1600, ACT from 22/36, IELTS from 5.5, TOEFL iBT from 72, VSTEP 3-5 from B2, APT (ability assessment of Ho Chi Minh City National University) from 750/1200.

In addition to the above admission methods, units with specific training majors/programs have their own admission methods specifically announced in the component admission plan.

Accordingly, some majors will have aptitude tests and interviews combined with high school academic results/high school graduation exam results/HSA results/international certificates, VSTEP foreign language certificates...

Previously, on March 15, the first capacity assessment exam in 2025 of Hanoi National University took place at 8 testing locations.

According to initial assessments, the average score of the 2025 VNU capacity assessment test will be slightly higher than previous years because candidates can choose the third part of the test to promote their personal abilities and strengths.

Candidates also need to refer to the admission plan information of the universities requiring the corresponding admission combination.

The 2025 VNU Competency Assessment Exam attracted more than 90,000 candidates to participate in 6 rounds, with more than 100 universities using the results for admission.

Statistics show that in the first round, nearly 11,000 candidates registered and took the exam, reaching 99.4%. One candidate was disciplined and suspended from the exam.

Some exam sessions at Hoa Lac exam sites, University of Technology, University of Natural Sciences, Nam Dinh University, Thai Binh University achieved 100% of candidates attending the exam.
