BBK - With the initial impression from the old story, we embarked on a journey to explore Tam Chuc - the pagoda with the largest bronze Buddha statue in Southeast Asia. "Fairyland at Tam Chuc Pagoda".

During the experience learning trip at Ha Nam Newspaper, the Bac Kan Newspaper delegation was excited because the schedule included a field trip to Tam Chuc Pagoda. With a warm voice, Mr. Nguyen The Vinh, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Ha Nam Newspaper said: "That is also the place known as "Tien Luc Nhac - Hau That Tinh"".

The origin of this name is associated with a story that has been passed down for a long time: In ancient times, when heaven and earth were still close together, fairies came down to earth to play. Passing through Tam Chuc, they saw the beautiful scenery and were so fascinated that they forgot their way home. Every time the heavens called them back, they would throw down a bell. They threw it six times, but the fairies were still engrossed in the scenery. The six bells thrown down were the six mountains scattered across the large lake in front of the current Tam Chuc pagoda, also known as "Tien Luc Nhac".

On the 99-peak mountain range located in the southwest direction towards Huong Pagoda, there are 7 peaks near Tam Chuc village. An old story tells that at that time, all 7 peaks had large bright spots like 7 stars. The shimmering light from above shone down on a large area, the villagers called it That Tinh mountain. There were bad people who wanted to destroy the 7 stars to restrain that land. They piled firewood into a large pile and burned it for many days, causing 4 stars to gradually fade and finally only 3 stars remained. Therefore, the town of Kim Bang district was named Ba Sao, taken from that story."

Delegation of officials, reporters, and collaborators from Bac Kan Newspaper and Ha Nam Newspaper took souvenir photos at Tam Chuc Pagoda.

The story of the past, I don't know if it is true or not, but from the first step to Tam Chuc Pagoda, I was amazed by the scenery here. Tam Chuc Pagoda is a complex of spiritual architecture built on an area of over 40 hectares, arranged along a sacred axis from high to low, including: Ngoc Pagoda, Tam The Palace, Phap Chu Palace, Quan Am Palace and Tam Quan Gate.

Our group headed to Ngoc Pagoda first. Following the initially wide road, the whole group eagerly climbed the hill, laughing and talking loudly. A colleague reported to his friend: "In the past, to carry the jade statue up to the pagoda, it took a lot of time, each day we could only carry a little bit. All the statues at Tam Chuc Pagoda were moved to a fixed location before the pagoda was built." Climbing the hill until we were covered in sweat, we saw the signpost leading to Ngoc Pagoda, at this point the most arduous journey began.

Climbing 299 stone steps through the forest, the group arrived at the top of That Tinh Mountain, 200m above sea level, where Ngoc Pagoda is located. The pagoda has 3 curved roofs, built entirely of red granite slabs, crafted by Indian artisans in India and transported to install in the ancient Vietnamese architectural style without the need for concrete. This is a typical work bearing the mark of the craftsmen of the Buddha's homeland. In the pagoda, there is an extremely delicate white jade statue. Amidst the thin incense, visitors are constantly amazed when standing from Ngoc Pagoda looking around. Everything is quiet, people's hearts are peaceful, how often do we see the fairyland ahead?

Impressive scenery at Tam Chuc Pagoda.

Mr. Chu Van An, the security guard of Ngoc Pagoda, enthusiastically introduced: In the first days of the year, there are many tourists, the road up is difficult so you have to wait in line. In the hot summer, there are fewer tourists. Most people who come to Tam Chuc Pagoda try to climb up here. There is a couple in their 70s who still climb up together, there is a 5-year-old child who also climbs up, walking and resting. With a heart devoted to Buddhism, tourists from everywhere are amazed when they see the entire landscape below.

Reporter of Bac Kan Newspaper learns about Tam Chuc Pagoda.

Following the stone steps, we went down to Tam The Temple, Phap Chu Temple, Quan Am Temple and Tam Quan Gate. At each stop, I felt so small and strangely serene. At Tam The Temple, there are 3 bronze Buddha statues, each weighing 125 tons: Buddha of the Past, Present and Future. Phap Chu Temple houses a bronze statue of Sakyamuni, weighing 150 tons, crafted by Vietnamese artisans. Quan Am Temple is where the Buddha of a Thousand Hands and a Thousand Eyes is worshiped. During the journey, our group had the opportunity to admire elaborate works such as: More than 10,000 stone paintings, meticulously carved by Indonesian craftsmen from volcanic rock, each stone painting depicting the life of Buddha; or the Kinh Cot garden system with a massive shape and scale, using monolithic green stone. Looking at the meticulous and delicate works, each person felt like Buddha appeared, blending with the scenery here, associated with the sacred soul of the mountains and rivers...

Three statues at Tam The temple.

In addition to the works that are gradually being completed and existing, when coming to Tam Chuc Pagoda, our group also learned about the biodiversity in Tam Chuc Lake with many rare animals. The six mountains on Tam Chuc Lake are also home to thousands of storks, herons and many rare birds. This is also a unique and distinctive point of identification for Tam Chuc Pagoda Cultural and Spiritual Tourism Area, which combines culture, spirituality with sightseeing and exploring the unique natural landscape of Kim Bang mountains and forests.

Late in the afternoon, the double-decker cars and boats with curved roofs slowly take visitors back by road and water, bringing unforgettable experiences of spiritual tourism at Tam Chuc Pagoda in the hearts of every visitor…/.
