Come to Nam O to see moss and see seaweed jam scraping

These days, the moss field at Nam O reef (Hoa Hiep Nam ward, Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city) is considered the most beautiful moss season of the year.

From early morning, when the dawn just rises, the low tide is also the time to reveal moss-covered rocks.

The best time to see moss is early in the morning.

Moss season in Nam O usually lasts from Lunar New Year to before summer.

Low tide reveals mossy rocks

During the Lunar New Year, fewer visitors came to see moss than in previous years.

Early morning of the 4th day of Tet, there were not many tourists coming here to take pictures like other years so the moss beach was deserted, wild and somewhat more beautiful.

As the sun rose, the moss patches stood out even more.

The lush and pristine green moss carpet is revealed at low tide.

Seaweed grows on mossy rocks.

In 2-3 hours, each person can harvest 2-3 kg of seaweed jam.

1kg of fresh seaweed is sold on the spot for 150,000 VND.

Hidden behind moss-covered rocks, some women in Nam O village are taking advantage of the opportunity to rake for jam. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ba (74 years old, living in Nam O village) said she went to the reef early in the morning, before dawn broke.

Mrs. Ba crept along the rocky outcrops, using large clam shells to scrape off patches of seaweed clinging to the rock walls. According to her, seaweed is abundant before and after Tet, growing among the mossy rocks.

The Nam O moss season lasts from Tet until before summer. Every year, the moss field attracts many tourists to take pictures and check-in.
