Hoa Phat Dung Quat 1 Blast Furnace No. 1 resumes operation, increasing sales output

Currently, Hoa Phat Dung Quat Complex is operating 5 blast furnaces, including 4 furnaces of Hoa Phat Dung Quat 1 Project. The blast furnace of Hoa Phat Dung Quat 1 has a volume of 1080 m3. The blast furnace volume of Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Project is 2500 m3, double the volume of Dung Quat 1 furnace, consuming less energy. Hoa Phat also invests higher than current environmental standards, exceeding expected future requirements, especially in reducing CO2 emissions and reducing energy consumption.

Hoa Phat is the largest steel producer in Southeast Asia, investing in modern technology according to a closed-loop model. Hoa Phat recovers all excess heat, utilizing excess coal gas in iron and steel smelting as fuel for boilers to generate electricity. In the first 6 months of 2025, Hoa Phat will be self-sufficient in 90% of the electricity used to produce steel, saving 3,500 billion VND.

In September 2025, the Group will complete phase 2 of the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Iron and Steel Complex project. Upon completion, the Group's total steel output will reach a total of 16 million tons/year, including 9 million tons of hot-rolled coil steel, meeting 100% of the demand for this product in the Vietnamese market.
