Imprints from typical models of education promotion

(QBĐT) - After 25 years of construction and development, the movement to encourage learning and talent (KH, KT) has spread widely, becoming an important driving force to promote the building of a learning society from the grassroots. In that journey, Quang Trach district and Bac Nghia ward (Dong Hoi city) are two typical examples, with many creative ways, effectively implementing the movement, contributing to fostering the tradition of studiousness, improving people's knowledge and training human resources to serve the development of the homeland.

Spreading learning promotion models

As one of the leading flags of the province in the science and technology movement, the Science and Technology Association of Quang Trach district has left many strong marks on the 25-year journey of cultivating the tradition of learning. From the early days with many difficulties, up to now, the science and technology network in Quang Trach has developed widely, with many typical models, contributing to improving people's knowledge, training human resources, and nurturing talents to serve the sustainable development of the homeland.

The Quang Trach District Science Association was established on June 14, 2000, with Meritorious Teacher Tran Chan as the first President of the Association. At that time, the association's staff consisted of only 5 people, but with great enthusiasm and determination, the members worked hard to propagate, mobilize, and lay the foundation for the association at the grassroots level. Thanks to the attention and support of the Party Committee, government, and people, by the end of the first term, most communes in the district had effective association organizations.

Representatives of the provincial Association for Promotion of Education awarded the "Learning Never Ends" scholarship to students of Quang Trach district.

In the following terms, the District Science and Technology Association has continuously innovated its content and methods of operation, focusing on bringing the movements of "Family of Learning", "Clan of Learning", "Community of Learning" into depth, associated with building a learning society from the grassroots. The Association has actively implemented major policies of the Party and Government on lifelong learning and building learning citizens. Many activities to commend and reward excellent students and teachers have been organized regularly, arousing the spirit of learning among the entire population.

In the process of performing its tasks, the Quang Trach District Science and Technology Association has closely coordinated with localities to select, build and replicate typical learning models. Many clans, communities, units, families and individuals have become bright spots of the movement. The 2021-2026 term recorded many outstanding results, in which the ratio of members to population reached 28.6% (23.5% in 2021), and the number of members who are party members reached 90.41% (77% in 2021).

“Along with promoting propaganda and building models, the work of mobilizing resources for science and technology is also focused on. The district’s science and technology fund always maintains a balance of over 1 billion VND, supporting hundreds of students in difficult circumstances, excellent students who have won national and provincial awards, and teachers with outstanding achievements in nurturing excellent students. Every year, we award hundreds of scholarships and gifts with a total value of nearly 1 billion VND to poor students who have overcome difficulties, contributing to creating conditions for them to excel in their studies!”, said Mr. Nguyen Van Tao, Chairman of the Science and Technology Association of Quang Trach district.

With its efforts over the past 25 years, the Quang Trach District Science Association has been honored to be recognized by the Party, the State and other organizations with many noble awards: Third-class Labor Medal, Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister , Excellent Emulation Flag from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Science Association, along with many certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee and other levels and sectors.

Bright spot for promoting learning and talent

Bac Nghia Ward (Dong Hoi City) is a typical example with many effective learning models and widespread dissemination. Implementing Conclusion No. 49-KL/TW of the Secretariat of the 12th Party Central Committee on continuing to implement Directive 11-CT/TW of the Politburo , the Party Committee, government and people of the ward have included science and technology work in the regular work program of each organization and unit.

Learning models have been deployed synchronously and effectively throughout the ward. To date, Bac Nghia has 26 KH associations and more than 3,100 members; of which, the participation of party members accounts for a very high proportion. In particular, more than 3,100 citizens have registered for the "Learning Citizen" model, demonstrating the widespread spread of the spirit of lifelong learning in the community.

Bac Nghia Ward has also mobilized more than 2.4 billion VND from the community to build the Science Fund. From this resource, the ward has awarded scholarships, commended outstanding students and teachers, and provided timely support to students in especially difficult circumstances.

Chairman of the Provincial Science Association Tran Xuan Vinh: After 25 years of development, the system of science associations at all levels has covered all communes, wards and towns. The movements of "Learning families", "Learning clans", "Learning units", "Learning communities" have been deployed synchronously and in depth. Many localities and units have good and creative ways of doing things, mobilizing social resources well, contributing to maintaining and strongly developing the lifelong learning movement among the people.

To continue effectively implementing Conclusion No. 49-KL/TW, the Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations of Bac Nghia ward focus on a number of key tasks, such as: Enhancing the core role of the science and technology association in building a learning society; promoting propaganda on lifelong learning and good examples of self-study; mobilizing people to actively respond to learning emulation movements; consolidating and developing learning models; enhancing socialization and mobilizing resources for science and technology work.

With the synchronous participation and high determination of the entire political system, the scientific movement in Bac Nghia has been developing more and more deeply, contributing to improving people's knowledge, developing human resources and building an increasingly civilized and prosperous homeland.
