Ancient villa with tiled roof darkened by time, a corner of ancient French architecture still intact in Bien Hoa Citadel. |
The most prominent part of Bien Hoa Citadel is two ancient French villas, with dark red tiled roofs covered with moss over the years. The architecture here is a subtle blend of Asian and ancient French styles, expressed through large arched windows and harmoniously designed domes. Stepping inside, the long corridor with rows of columns and ancient lanterns brings a nostalgic feeling, making viewers feel like they are going back in time.
In 2013, this project was recognized as a National Historical Relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The Department of Construction is implementing a plan to establish a square in the Bien Hoa Citadel area so that people can easily access the historical relic and have the opportunity to learn more about the history, culture and value of the heritage.
Awakening the potential of the ancient citadel not only helps preserve a unique architectural work, but is also a way to educate and arouse pride in local history, a "bridge" between the past and the present, contributing to enriching the spiritual life of Dong Nai people.
