According to the Daily Mail , while reporting live on the protests in Los Angeles on June 8, reporter Lauren Tomasi of channel 9News was shot in the leg.
Video footage of the incident shows Tomasi reporting on protests in Los Angeles when several loud explosions are heard in the distance. Minutes later, a police officer standing behind her is seen pointing a gun at Tomasi. The reporter is hit by a rubber bullet and doubled over in pain.
"You just shot a reporter," one protester shouted.

Some protesters stopped to ask Tomasi how she was, and she replied: "I'm fine."
9News confirmed Tomasi was in pain but her condition is stable.
The protests began on June 6 in response to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids on illegal immigrants in Los Angeles. The protests were initially peaceful but later turned violent with clashes between protesters and law enforcement.
On June 7, US President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of 2,000 National Guard troops to the city to stabilize the situation. On June 9, he continued to instruct the Department of Defense to deploy an additional 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles. On the same day, the US Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) also deployed about 700 active-duty Marines to Los Angeles to support the National Guard in responding to violent protests in the city.
The unrest in Los Angeles has led to a war of words between President Trump and California Governor Gavin Newsom, who accused the White House boss of deliberately causing tension and even announced that he would sue Mr. Trump.
Meanwhile, Mr. Trump said that Governor Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass need to be responsible for the protest in Los Angeles, asking them to apologize.
