Ensuring safety of temporary structures at the Socio-Economic Achievements Exhibition

The Ministry of Construction has just requested relevant units to deploy measures to ensure safety of temporary structures at the Socio-Economic Achievements Exhibition to respond to storm No. 5.

Temporary works at the Exhibition of Socio -Economic Achievements

Following the direction of the Ministry of Construction , the State Appraisal Department of Construction Quality (Ministry of Construction) has requested Vingroup Corporation and Vietnam Exhibition Fair Center Joint Stock Company to immediately implement measures to ensure absolute safety for people and works, maintain the quality, aesthetics and progress of the Socio-Economic Achievements Exhibition on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day.

Accordingly, relevant agencies and units urgently review, inspect, reinforce, and anchor all temporary construction items such as: structural frames, roofs, panels, signs, lighting systems, electricity and water, hanging equipment, etc. to ensure stability and safety.

In addition, units proactively dismantle items and components that are at risk of being unsafe when unusual factors appear; fully prepare disaster prevention plans, arrange vehicles and on-duty forces, and closely coordinate with the exhibition organizing committee and local authorities. During the storm, units stop all construction, installation and on-site activities.

After the storm has passed, units need to organize inspections and assessments of the current status of temporary construction items; only allow continued construction, installation or putting into use of equipment and works after repairing damage, ensuring absolute safety in terms of structure, electricity, lighting and aesthetics.

Deputy Director of the State Appraisal Department of Construction Quality Le Van Duong emphasized that this is an urgent and important task to ensure the safety of life, property and the success of the Socio-Economic Achievement Exhibition on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day.
