Affirming the role
Resolution of the 12th Dak Nong Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025, identifies industry as the driving force for growth, making Dak Nong the national bauxite - aluminum and post-aluminum industrial center.

One of the highlights of the past term was the production of alumina and aluminum. In particular, Nhan Co Alumina Factory - one of the national key projects in Dak Nong has operated effectively with actual performance exceeding 15% compared to the design (650,000 tons/year).
This is a testament to the modern management and operation capacity and development potential of the alumina processing industry in Dak Nong.
The Aluminum Electrolysis Plant Project invested by Tran Hong Quan Metallurgy Company Limited is also in the completion stage after many bottlenecks were removed. The project promises to form an important link in the local industrial value chain.
In addition, a series of other bauxite-alumina mining and processing projects are being proposed and considered for investment in Nhan Co, Dak Nong 2, 3, 4 and 5 Industrial Parks.
The projects are attracting large investors such as: Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group, Viet Phuong Investment Group Joint Stock Company, Dong Bac Corporation ( Ministry of National Defense ), Duc Giang Chemical Group Joint Stock Company...

Dak Nong's processing, manufacturing and energy industries, especially renewable energy, are also developing strongly.
The proportion of industry in Dak Nong's GRDP structure will increase from 10.49% (in 2020) to 16.86% (in 2025).
Along with the production process, enterprises in the province have actively innovated equipment, improved product quality, and promoted exports. Industrial infrastructure has been invested, creating a favorable environment to attract investment, meeting the production and living needs of the people.
Notably, industrial promotion activities have mobilized nearly 36.8 billion VND for rural industrial development; of which, the budget supports more than 15.5 billion VND. This is an important resource to help small production establishments expand their scale.

The province's trade sector also recorded positive changes. The distribution network is increasingly expanding to remote areas, ensuring stable supply and demand of goods.
The traditional market system has been improved along with the development of modern distribution models such as supermarkets, shopping malls, convenience stores and e-commerce platforms...
Export activities continue to develop strongly. Key products such as coffee, pepper, cashew nuts, rubber, alumina, etc. have quick access to international markets.

Trade promotion activities have been stepped up, with more than 11.4 billion VND spent on market research, organizing and participating in fairs, connecting trade, and promoting products through e-commerce platforms. Trade development is creating a strong driving force for the local commodity economy .
In the 2020-2025 term, Dak Nong's average industrial growth will reach about 11.96% per year. Total retail sales and service revenue will grow by an average of about 12.64% during the term. Export turnover will reach 5,991 million USD.
Welcome new opportunities
During the 2026 - 2030 term, Dak Nong Industry and Trade sector sets an average industrial growth target of 19.86%/year.
To achieve this goal, the Industry and Trade sector will focus on key tasks, ensuring adherence to Party resolutions, Government development strategies, and development orientations of the province and the sector.

In particular, in the context of merging with Lam Dong and Binh Thuan to form a new province, Dak Nong is welcoming great opportunities to expand development space, promote regional connectivity, and maximize potential and advantages.
With reserves of more than 5.4 billion tons of raw bauxite, this area is oriented to become the largest bauxite - alumina - aluminum industrial center in the country.
In addition, the long coastline and large fishing grounds also bring advantages in developing the marine economy, which will also promote the trade and service sectors.
With a sustainable development orientation, the new province of Lam Dong will accelerate the application of science and technology, innovation, digital transformation and actively participate in the fourth industrial revolution.

On that basis, the Industry and Trade sector will mobilize capital from domestic and foreign economic sectors to invest in industries with comparative advantages such as agricultural, forestry and fishery processing; renewable energy (especially wind power and solar power).
In particular, the industry will focus on developing the mining industry, especially bauxite mining, alumina production and aluminum smelting, and post-aluminum products to meet domestic demand and boost exports. This will make Lam Dong a national non-ferrous metallurgy center.
Along with industrial development, the industry will encourage and support businesses to invest in the direction of green economy, circular economy, linking growth model transformation based on high technology, digital transformation and high added value.

At the same time, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles and coordinate to create favorable conditions for enterprises in production, business and project implementation.
The focus is on removing difficulties of large, key projects that make great contributions to growth and have spillover effects on economic and social development.
The locality will also focus on supporting businesses to boost production. In particular, applying new, advanced, energy-saving, environmentally friendly machinery and equipment to production to gradually create quality, branded products, enhancing competitiveness in domestic and foreign markets.
