During the past term, the Party Committee has promoted its role and responsibility as the political nucleus leading the implementation of the targets and tasks of the Resolution of the Congress for the 2020-2025 term on implementing political tasks, along with the work of building a clean and strong Party organization.

In the 5 years of implementing the Resolution of the Party Congress and after nearly 4 months of performing the tasks after the Department of Construction was newly established on the basis of merging the Department of Construction and the Department of Transport, the construction industry has achieved many important results, contributing to the overall development of the province. In particular, in the field of transport infrastructure development, many key works and projects have been invested and started: The project connecting National Highway 91 and the Long Xuyen City bypass; upgrading the inter-provincial road connecting Chau Phu district, An Giang province through the Long Xuyen Quadrangle area connecting to Hon Dat district, Kien Giang province (Provincial Road 945); Investment project to build the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway, Chau Doc bridge, construction of 33/34 key transport infrastructure projects...

Transport business activities have developed strongly. Traffic order and safety have been enhanced; infrastructure development, urban planning and development, construction quality management, housing management and real estate market have been improved.

Speaking at the congress, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc praised and highly appreciated the achievements of the Party Committee of the Department of Construction in the past term. At the same time, he emphasized that in the 2025 - 2030 term, the merger of the province, the expansion of development space, and the formation of a large province An Giang with diverse terrain "mountains - plains - borders - islands". This is an extremely great strategic advantage but also poses new requirements and great challenges for the construction industry. The Department of Construction must be one of the pioneering and main forces to realize the vision: An Giang becomes a dynamic development center of the Mekong Delta, aiming at the goal of a national marine economic center - an important growth pole and a model of sustainable development.

To achieve that vision and goal, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Party Committee of the Department of Construction with the highest political determination to proactively advise and urgently implement projects serving the APEC Summit. Synchronously advise on solutions for developing technical infrastructure, transportation, urban infrastructure in coastal and border areas. In particular, it is necessary to effectively coordinate in planning, managing urban development and functional areas associated with key national projects such as Rach Gia and Phu Quoc Airports. Advise on unifying construction and urban planning after the merger; ensure the organization of reasonable and sustainable development space, clear regional thinking. Organize the review, publicize approved projects and strengthen the construction and development of urban chains associated with the development of tourist seaports, seaports for import and export of goods, domestic, international and regional transit.
