Stanislav Semenov, owner of Eqvilent, a quantitative trading firm based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has just ordered a very special car from China, the Hongqi Guoli. This is a limousine with a nostalgic design and a strong mark of a state car.

Semenov is said to have attended Hongqi events in both China and Dubai, and it is possible that through these events he developed a special interest in the luxury car model of the domestic Chinese brand.

The car that the Middle Eastern tycoon ordered has a two-tone exterior of turquoise blue and moonlight white. Meanwhile, the car's interior uses dark blue tones with contrasting white details.

The highlight of this car is the exquisite traditional Chinese hand-painted paintings on the ceiling and center armrest. This is a special option of Hongqi, leading to a higher export price.

Officially launched in the Chinese market in June 2024, Hongqi Guoli is a car for high-ranking leaders and is sold under a new brand called Golden Sunflower. This is the brand that Hongqi reserves for the most expensive and luxurious models in its product range.

Hongqi Guoli is the successor to its predecessor L5. Besides Guoli, there are three other models, Guoyao, Guoya and Guoyue, forming the product lineup under the Golden Sunflower brand. At the front, the Golden Sunflower product line still retains its characteristic design with a giant vertical waterfall grille.

This detail, combined with the protruding round headlights, both have a strong nostalgic feel. According to Hongqi, this design is inspired by traditional Chinese culture with the concept of "round sky, square earth". In addition, the front hood is also designed to be long, creating a majestic and imposing appearance for the car.

The retractable Hongqi emblem on the hood and the crystal-encrusted headlights clearly demonstrate Guoli's class and unique identity. Notably, the Hongqi emblem is tilted forward at a 23.5° angle, symbolizing the tilt of the Earth's axis. It can be said that this is a detail that carries the symbolism and design philosophy of Hongqi.

Hongqi Guoli has overall dimensions of length x width x height of 5,980 x 2,090 x 1,710 mm, wheelbase of 3,730 mm and unladen weight of 3,150 kg. The car is classified in the large sedan segment. Compared to its predecessor Hongqi L5 Zhizun Edition 2014, the car is 425 mm longer and the wheelbase is increased by 295 mm, providing a spacious interior and a more luxurious feeling for passengers.

Hongqi Guoli is equipped with a 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 engine, with a maximum capacity of 388 horsepower and a maximum torque of 530 Nm. The engine is combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission, allowing the car to reach a maximum speed of 220 km/h and accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. However, the car's fuel consumption is quite high, up to 15.2 liters/100 km. Therefore, the car has an extremely large fuel tank with a capacity of 112 liters.

In the Chinese market, Hongqi Guoli is priced at about 7.18 million yuan (equivalent to 1 million USD - equivalent to about 25 billion VND). However, the declared export price is said to be up to 1.5 million USD (about more than 35 billion VND), according to sources in China.
