In the latest announcement on June 18, billionaire Elon Musk's space company SpaceX said it had successfully launched 26 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit, to continue expanding its global broadband Internet network.
The Falcon 9 rocket carrying the satellites was launched from Space Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, two days earlier.
This is the third flight of the Falcon 9 rocket booster, demonstrating the level of reuse efficiency of the technology developed by SpaceX.
Just about eight minutes after leaving the launch pad, the rocket's first stage returned to Earth and landed safely on a drone ship in the Pacific Ocean .
Meanwhile, the second stage continued its journey, successfully deploying all 26 Starlink satellites into orbit after nearly an hour.
This mission is part of the Starlink 15-9 satellite group - part of SpaceX's long-term strategy to provide high-speed, low-latency Internet connections to hard-to-reach areas around the world./.
