The program is directed by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, organized by Vietnam Television in coordination with the Hanoi City Party Committee and People's Committee; Hue City Party Committee and People's Committee; and Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and People's Committee.
This is one of the typical events to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day September 2.

Through live television, the political and artistic program “Golden Opportunity” connected three historical points including Hanoi Flag Tower - a symbol of independence; Ngo Mon Square, Hue - a place connecting the past with the present and Nha Rong Wharf, Ho Chi Minh City - the starting point of Uncle Ho's journey to liberate the nation.
The program “Golden Opportunity” takes the audience through 3 chapters. Chapter 1 “Must look broadly, think carefully”, viewers seem to return to the historic August days, feeling the boiling atmosphere when the whole nation stood up. Chapter 2 “Resolutely and continuously attack”, the audience is led through 80 years of history, from 9 years of making Dien Bien Phu, the historic spring of national unification to the brilliant renovation. Chapter 3 “Certain success”, the audience sees a Vietnam of today, facing a new “golden opportunity” - an era of development, prosperity, and strength.
The program has aroused pride in every Vietnamese person. Continuing that emotional flow, the immortal songs that have been the guiding light for many generations of Vietnamese people are recreated through the voices of talented artists such as My Linh, Dang Duong, Trong Tan... and artists at 3 connecting points.
In particular, many historical witnesses such as former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh; Colonel, Hero Tu Cang; Colonel, musician Doan Nho; Mr. Pham Chanh Truc; Dr. Le Dang Doanh; Ms. Ton Nu Thi Ninh... brought the audience authentic and emotional historical stories.
In addition, through elaborately staged live footage, the program recreated the boiling atmosphere of the days of the General Uprising, helping viewers visualize more clearly the great strength of our people when they rose up to seize the opportunity, opening an era of independence - freedom and building socialism.
At the Hue City bridge, the audience was able to watch a unique and impressive art program with performances such as: "Together we go to the Red Army"; "Hue Folk Song, the Calm River"; "Little Spring" performed by artists from the Hue Royal Traditional Arts Theater, Hue Opera and Drama Theater, Hue College of Culture and Arts and other units.

As an audience member who arrived very early in the stands at Ngo Mon Bridge, Hue, Nguyen Thi Hong Thanh, a 9th grade student in Hue City, shared: “Watching valuable historical documentary footage about the time when our ancestors fought and bravely defeated the enemy to liberate our homeland and unify the country, we can partly understand the value of independence and freedom today. We are proud to be Vietnamese and vow to study hard to contribute to building our homeland in the future.”
The political and artistic program “Golden Opportunity” touched the audience’s emotions with music and artistic performances. This is not only a commemorative program but also a historical lesson, reminding the present and future generations of the spirit and responsibility to build and protect the country in the new era.
