On the afternoon of December 3, news from the Department of Information and Communications of Da Nang City said that at the Announcement and Honoring Ceremony of the Vietnam Smart City Award 2024 (organized by the Vietnam Software and Information Technology Services Association - VINASA in Hanoi from December 2 to 3), this locality continued to be named, leading the list of cities nationwide in building smart cities, receiving the highest award of the Vietnam Smart City Award 2024.
Along with the Vietnam Smart City Award 2024, Da Nang also continues to receive the title of Smart Operation and Management City (IOC); Attractive City for Innovative Startups; Smart, Green, Clean Environmental Management City.
At the Honor Ceremony, Hanoi was recognized as a pioneer in innovation of public services and smart infrastructure with the titles of Smart Public Service City; Smart Infrastructure City.

Cao Lanh City participated in the competition for the first time and won the title of Smart Education City.
Dr. Nguyen Quan (Former Minister of Science and Technology, Chairman of the Award Council) said: This year's nominations are of good quality, evaluated based on comprehensive criteria: Smart - Sustainable - Innovative.
The Vietnam Smart City Awards were first held in 2020 and are positioned as an annual activity of VINASA, to honor pioneering and typical localities, organizations and businesses in the journey of building smart cities.
