Students of Tay Do University and officials of Hung Phu ward (Cai Rang district) guide people to install digital applications.
According to the Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Youth Union, in addition to the youth union formations including: "Green Summer" (students), "Pink Vacation" (young civil servants and public employees), "Green March" (armed forces), "Red Flamboyant" (high school students), there are 6 formations associated with the expertise and strengths of the youth union: "Popular education", "Youth volunteers to propagate drowning prevention", "Young volunteer doctors", "Supporting exam season", "For beautiful schools for children", "Volunteering to build civilized urban areas and advanced new rural areas, model new rural areas". The members of the formation are divided and arranged based on expertise, skills, and knowledge, to ensure work efficiency and maximize the capacity of each individual.
The new feature of this year's Summer Youth Campaign is the establishment of the "Digital Education for All" team, which has received positive responses from young people in units and localities. Volunteers directly instruct people, especially those in remote areas, on how to use computers, smartphones, and access the Internet safely; propagate and guide people to install cashless payment applications; and train young people on safe social network usage skills.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hoa Hop, Deputy Secretary of the Information Technology Department Youth Union, Can Tho University of Technology, this year, in response to the "Digital Popularization" movement, in addition to maintaining IT teaching activities for hamlet officials and students during the summer, the Faculty Youth Union trained digital skills, helping students exploit online platforms to serve their studies and research; and guided them on how to use social networks in a civilized, effective and safe manner. The Tay Do University Youth Union deployed the "Digital Popularization" team from the end of May 2025, attracting more than 30 students to participate. The team supported the officials of Hung Phu ward (Cai Rang district) to propagate and guide more than 100 people to register for online public service accounts, install cashless payment applications, and VNeID electronic identification. Social security activities and volunteering to build urban civilization and new rural areas are focused on by the city's youth. According to the Youth Union of Can Tho College of Economics and Technology, in order to improve the effectiveness of the volunteer movement, the Youth Union focuses on implementing the policy of "3 links" (linking forces, linking localities, linking communities). Accordingly, the Youth Union coordinates with Youth Union bases in districts: Ninh Kieu, Binh Thuy, Co Do, to organize volunteer activities for the community (activities are implemented to ensure at least 3 hamlets/communes). Activities focus on supporting orphans, disabled children, and children in difficult circumstances; gratitude activities; clearing bushes, painting bridges, roads and schools.
The Youth Union of Can Tho Medical College promotes the professional strengths of the Youth Union of the Medical sector to take care of community health, such as providing free medical examinations and medicine to people in the suburbs and border communes; mobilizing Youth Union members to donate blood voluntarily and many communication activities to take care of people's health. In June 2025, the Youth Union organized a communication program to prevent and combat gender-based violence, with the theme "Touch to understand - Live to love". At the program, students interacted with speakers on gender equality; discussed gender stereotypes, mental and emotional violence in the school environment and prevention solutions. This is an opportunity for young people to better understand the forms of gender-based violence (physical, mental, sexual, and controlling violence), recognize the signs, and how to prevent it. More importantly, the program inspires empathy, listening, and taking the right action to protect yourself and others.
Many Youth Union officials believe that volunteer teams associated with expertise need to be maintained, expanded, and operated regularly. This will create conditions for young people to improve their professional knowledge and future career skills, increasing the amount of “gray matter” in youth projects and tasks.
