Mr. Tran Mong Hung

Specifically, Mr. Tran Hung Huy posted an obituary for Mr. Tran Mong Hung, born in 1953, who passed away on April 25, 2024. Mr. Hung's coffin was kept at his private residence at 469, group 19, Luong Le hamlet, My Luong commune, Cai Be district, Tien Giang province and buried in the family yard.

Mr. Tran Mong Hung is known in the financial and banking community as the founder of ACB . He graduated with a bachelor's degree in banking from Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and became a lecturer at the Advanced School of Banking (from 1978 to 1980).

With his financial expertise, in 1993, Mr. Tran Mong Hung and his relatives and friends founded ACB with initial charter capital of 20 billion VND.

During the first years of operation, Mr. Tran Mong Hung held the position of General Director, then Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACB.

In 2008, after 15 years as the "train driver" for ACB, Mr. Hung withdrew from the Board of Directors and returned to the role of advisor. His replacement to lead ACB until now is his son - Mr. Tran Hung Huy.

According to ACB's management report for the first 6 months of 2023, Mr. Tran Mong Hung does not hold any shares in this bank. ACB's Chairman of the Board of Directors - Mr. Tran Hung Huy - owns 133 million shares, equivalent to 3.43% of the shares. Meanwhile, Ms. Dang Thi Thu Thuy, Mr. Hung's wife, holds 46.4 million ACB shares, equivalent to 1.19% of the bank's capital.
