Many netizens commented that the scene is like a "miniature Hoi An" in the heart of Dien Bien: "I went on a business trip from Dien Bien to Lai Chau, and when I got here, I felt like I was lost in the Central coastal region", "I stopped here once, next to the hydroelectric lake, I must say the scenery is extremely poetic", ...

Sharing with VietNamNet reporter , Mr. Nguyen Manh Quy (born in 1993, in Thai Binh) - the owner of the above video said that the road appearing in the video is located in Muong Lay town (Dien Bien province), about 100km from the center of Dien Bien Phu city.
The route is about 2km long, starting from Nam Can bridge to Ban Xa bridge. On one side of the road is Son La hydroelectric lake, on the other side is a row of stilt houses located close together, with similar designs of the White Thai community.
“Along one side of the road is a row of coconut trees, providing cool shade, reminding me of the scenery along the Thu Bon River in Hoi An (Quang Nam) that I once visited,” Mr. Quy recalled.

A male tourist from Thai Binh also revealed that the video was recorded during the recent Lunar New Year. Luckily, he arrived during the flood season, right at dusk, so the scene appeared even more poetic and romantic.
“I didn’t think there was such a beautiful road in Dien Bien. I felt a little regretful because I was about to go to Muong Nhe so I only had time to stop the car, watch the sunset for a while and then leave immediately,” the young man said.

According to the reporter's research, with a natural area of only over 11,266 hectares, accounting for about 1% of Dien Bien province's area, Muong Lay has long held the position of the smallest town in the country, consisting of 3 administrative units: Lay Nua commune, Na Lay ward and Song Da ward.
The whole town lies in a narrow valley stretching along the Nam Lay River to the junction of the Da River, Nam Na River and Nam Lay Stream.
Not only that, last month, this place was also recognized by the Vietnam Record Organization as "The town with the highest density of traditional stilt houses of the Thai ethnic group - the White Thai branch in Vietnam".

If you have the opportunity to come to Muong Lay Town, in addition to the picturesque lakeside road, visitors can combine experiences and learn about the culture and life of the indigenous people.
In particular, visitors coming here can easily admire the houses with natural stone roofs - a unique feature only found in Muong Lay. These stone tiles are mined along the Da River and crafted in Song Da ward, creating a unique beauty.
In addition, visitors can visit Nam Can Mechanical Bridge or Muong Lay Mechanical Port - where major local cultural, tourism and sports events often take place.
