Thanh Hoa Club proposed to be transferred, players practice normally

Faced with changes related to the leadership of Thanh Hoa Football Club, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa province has submitted a document to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, proposing a temporary plan to receive and manage the team to ensure participation in the 2025-2026 professional season.

Accordingly, this proposal was made after the Investigation Police Agency of Thanh Hoa Province Police conducted an emergency search of the workplace of Mr. Cao Tien Doan, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Dong A Company, and also Chairman of Thanh Hoa football team.

Thanh Hoa Club was transferred to Dong A Thanh Hoa Football Company Limited from 2020, according to the resolution of Thanh Hoa Football Federation, with Mr. Cao Tien Doan as Chairman.

However, in response to the new developments, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa province proposed that the Provincial People's Committee assign the Department to direct the Thanh Hoa Football Federation to temporarily take over and manage the activities of the Thanh Hoa football team, and coordinate with relevant units to organize training and competitions in accordance with the regulations of the Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF).

At the same time, the Department will advise the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee to invite organizations, individuals and businesses with capacity to participate in taking over the team, ensuring compliance with the regulations of the Professional Football Regulations. According to the representative of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism , this consultation is to ensure proactiveness, in case Mr. Cao Tien Doan cannot continue to run the Thanh Hoa team, there will still be a timely plan to help the Club maintain stability and not interrupt the competition process.

During the transition, coach Choi Won-kwon and his team continued to practice on August 29, before entering the National Day holiday on September 2.

After nearly 5 years of being taken over by Dong A Thanh Hoa Football Company Limited, Thanh Hoa has won 2 National Cups in the 2023 and 2023-2024 seasons, along with 1 National Super Cup in 2023.
