Happy birthday, give gifts to 943 people turning 90 years old

(CT) - On the occasion of the Vietnamese Elderly Day (NCT) June 6, a delegation of officials from the Can Tho City Department of Health in coordination with relevant agencies and organizations at all levels recently visited and inquired about the health and living conditions, wished longevity, and presented gifts to three 90-year-olds residing in Thoi Thuan ward, Thot Not district, including: Bui Van Chuong, Thoi Thanh 2 area, Nguyen Thi Tuy and Nguyen Thi Tuoi, both in Thoi Binh area.

On this occasion, the whole city had 943 seniors who turned 90 years old being congratulated and given gifts. Each senior was given a birthday card from the Chairman of the City People's Committee, a gift worth 300,000 VND and cash worth 600,000 VND according to regulations.

According to the Representative Board of the Association of the Elderly in Can Tho City, the city currently has 119,229 elderly members out of 138,875 elderly people participating in activities at branches and grassroots associations. Of these, over 25,000 elderly members receive monthly social allowances; over 105,400 elderly members have health insurance cards to receive free medical examination and treatment; the elderly have initial health monitoring books...
