PRESIDENT VO VAN THUONG AND PRESIDENT OF KAZAKHSTAN TRY TO MAKE CHU DAU POTTERY

On the morning of August 22, President Vo Van Thuong and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited Chu Dau Ceramic Joint Stock Company in Hai Duong province.

This is one of the activities during the official visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Vietnam from August 20-22.

The two leaders watched artisans paint on Chu Dau ceramics.

Chu Dau pottery flourished from the 14th to the 17th century. After more than 3 centuries of being lost, Chu Dau pottery has now revived and become a valuable export item. The revival of the pottery village also creates great potential for developing craft village tourism for the locality.

Decorative motifs on Chu Dau ceramics often depict natural scenes and the lives of residents of the Red River Delta, such as scenes of shepherds herding buffalo, birds perching on flower branches, schools of fish swimming underwater, thatched roofs along the river, etc.

The company's leadership presented the vase as a gift to the President of Kazakhstan .
