Specifically, in Document No. 670/TTg-CN, dated June 11, 2025, the Deputy Prime Minister agreed with the proposal of the Ministry of Construction to allow the Ministry of Construction to grant an Air Transport Business License to Phu Quoc Sun Aviation Company Limited.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Construction to be responsible for the content of the report and proposal, and to issue Air Transport Business Licenses in accordance with regulations; and to be responsible for managing and ensuring safe and effective civil aviation operations.
Previously, the Prime Minister issued Decision 979/QD-TTg dated May 20, 2025 on approving the investment policy and approving the investor of the Sun PhuQuoc Airways Project.
According to the Decision, the investor implementing the project is Phu Quoc Sun Aviation Company Limited.
According to the approved policy, Sun PhuQuoc Airways will have a total fleet size of 31 aircraft by 2030. The total investment capital of the project is VND2,500 billion (equivalent to about USD98.81 million).
The project's goal is to establish a new airline with the main business model of transporting passengers by commercial air, combined with the charter model to serve tourists traveling to tourist and business centers in Vietnam and the world, typically famous tourist islands and bustling financial and commercial centers.
In particular, Sun PhuQuoc Airways was opened with the mission of bringing tourists from countries around the world to Phu Quoc Island. And having another airline to the island will also create conditions for Vietnamese people to come to Phu Quoc more easily and conveniently.
