Lang Son province's PCI index ranks 16th nationwide.

On the afternoon of June 12, the People's Committee of Lang Son province held a conference to assess the provincial competitiveness index (PCI) in 2024 and propose solutions for implementation in 2025.

In 2024, the PCI index of Lang Son province reached 69.01 points (down 0.04 points compared to 2023), ranking 16th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide (down 3 places compared to 2023). In the northern midland and mountainous region alone, Lang Son ranked 3rd out of 14 provinces and cities.

Accordingly, the indexes that increased in points include: Market entry; Transparency; Informal costs; Business support policies; in addition to the indexes that decreased in points are: Land access; Time costs; Fair competition; Provincial government dynamism; Labor training; Legal institutions and security and order.

According to the results announced by the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Lang Son's four provincial green indexes (PGI) have risen from 62nd to 31st out of 63 provinces and cities with a total of 22.63 points.

The component indexes that increased their scores were: “Minimizing pollution and natural disasters” with 4.95 points; “Ensuring compliance” with 4.95 points; “Promoting green practices” with 6.71 points; “Encouraging policies and support services” with 6.02 points.

Lang Son maintains its ranking in the Top 30 localities with the best governance quality in 2024

Lang Son province is determined to continue to concretize and organize the implementation of improving the investment and business environment with the spirit of taking people and businesses as the center and subject.

In addition, all levels and sectors continue to focus on specific tasks such as: reducing time to handle administrative procedures, increasing access to credit, access to land procedures, proactively removing difficulties for businesses, etc.

In addition, Lang Son province continues to promote digital transformation, build digital government, digital border gates, digital economy ; continue to enhance the role and responsibility of heads of agencies and units in implementing PCI and PGI assessment indexes.

The provincial business association and businesses continue to promote their role as a bridge, accompanying the government in building and criticizing policies, contributing to building strong business development.

The Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) is an index measuring the quality of economic management of provincial governments in 10 important areas for the development of enterprises in the private economic sector; it is the "collection of voices" of the business community on the business environment of provinces and cities.

The PCI 2024 index is analyzed based on a dataset collected from 8,566 private enterprises operating in 63 provinces and cities nationwide and 701 enterprises in the newly established enterprise group.
