Every corner of Hue has its own unique features, echoes of time. The Imperial Citadel, Phu Van Lau, temples, and tombs covered in moss… attract tourists with their historical charm. In addition to visiting these heritages, tourists can also experience swimming on SUPs along the banks of the Perfume River, especially at dawn and dusk.
SUP is a new sport introduced to Vietnam. SUP - a surfboard with a paddle, is a type of paddle that is very easy to use, highly safe, used for 1 or more people to sit and paddle on rivers, lakes or seas. With the Huong River, due to the calm river flow, few waves, clean and clear water, SUP is very suitable and quickly becomes a form of entertainment for tourists.

Every day, especially during the hot summer days, tourists can rent SUP at the docks along the Perfume River. The price for tourists to paddle SUP is usually agreed by the docks from 100,000 - 150,000 VND/SUP, for 1 person or 2 - 3 people depending on the choice. With the paddle, players can paddle along the river or paddle across from the South bank - North bank of the Perfume River. The water is calm, the bank is green, the image of colorful SUP groups on the waves has become familiar in the ancient capital.
To serve tourists safely, SUP paddling stations are registered with state management agencies and thoroughly trained in safety on water. Tourists are equipped with life jackets, instructed in paddling techniques as well as instructions on how to handle incidents. All stations are equipped with rescue forces with canoes, professionally trained rescuers, ready to respond when incidents occur. This is a strength of SUP paddling due to its safety. When fully prepared with protective measures, SUP players are almost never in danger, including adults or children.
What is very special to Hue’s youth is that SUP rowing, besides being a fun sport and exercise, is also an opportunity to raise awareness of environmental protection. Although well-preserved, the Huong River still has floating trash on the surface, especially in winding water areas. Many groups of young people have combined SUP rowing with trash collection to protect the environment of the Huong River.

SUP service stations are often located along the river, and are also places that provide food and beverage services for tourists. In particular, the SUP station right at Thien Mu Pagoda is famous for Hue's ginger-sweetened tofu. SUPing is a light and refreshing experience, in the sunset and cool water, tasting a spoonful of sweet tofu has become a famous brand, sought after by tourists. Every afternoon, Thien Mu Pagoda is filled with tourists and young people from Hue coming to enjoy a glass of fragrant soft drink and SUP on the river.
The Perfume River, the river that flows along the ancient capital, with long green arches on both sides, has brought tourists and Hue residents another attractive sport. Paddling SUP along the river in the brilliant dawn or in the sunset, watching Hue is a memorable experience for tourists about a river, a dreamy city.
