Approval of the policy to adjust the Soc Trang Provincial Planning

(Chinhphu.vn) - In Document No. 671/TTg-QHDP dated June 11, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung approved the policy of adjusting the Soc Trang Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, following the simplified procedures and order according to the provisions of the law on planning and other relevant laws as proposed by the People's Committee of Soc Trang province.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province to take full responsibility before the law and the Prime Minister for: (i) the content of the proposal to approve the policy of adjusting the Provincial Planning according to the simplified procedures in Submission No. 186/TTr-UBND dated June 6, 2025 of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province; (ii) ensuring that the viewpoint and general objectives of the Soc Trang Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister, are not changed; (iii) strictly managing mineral resources in accordance with legal regulations, preventing corruption and waste that cause loss of national resources; The addition of material mines (sand) only serves the supply of sand for filling project Component 4 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Construction Investment Project Phase 1 (not used for other purposes), reporting to the Prime Minister on the implementation results according to regulations.

* Previously, on August 25, 2023, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 995/QD-TTg approving the Soc Trang Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

The goal of the Plan is to strive for Soc Trang to be one of the fairly developed provinces in the Mekong Delta by 2030; with developed industry, trade, services, modern and sustainable agriculture; forming an offshore seaport at Tran De estuary and having a synchronous and gradually modern infrastructure system; having an urban system developing in a green, smart and sustainable direction; having enough capacity to adapt to climate change.

By 2050, Soc Trang will become a dynamic development area of ​​the Mekong Delta associated with the development of Tran De seaport; a province with a fairly developed economy in the country, operating according to the method of digital government, digital economy and digital society for socio-economic activities; smart manufacturing and service industries with digital economic, green economic and circular economic models...
