In 2022, Captain Le Van Thu was an automatic control assistant, Ship Department, Technical Department of Brigade 189; in 2023 and 2024, he was trusted by his superiors to participate in a specialized submarine training course and training for the position of computer officer. Regardless of his position, he always strives to practice and make constant efforts. During his time as an automatic control assistant, Captain Le Van Thu regularly grasped the quantity and quality of automatic control technical equipment, the implementation of periodic and ad hoc technical management regimes; proposed solutions for repair, maintenance, and effective use, ensuring combat readiness, combat and other tasks; researched, exploited, and mastered the features of each type of automatic control technical equipment. He also participated in translating, drafting, printing documents and organizing instructions and training for the unit on technical and tactical features, rules of use, maintenance and repair of technical equipment of the ship industry. During his time as a computer officer trainee, he always actively helped his comrades and teammates, built a self-study movement to improve his qualifications and knowledge in class; and successfully completed the task of ensuring information security in the unit.

Captain Le Van Thu said that during his work, he found it difficult to grasp the quantity, manage the quality, and monitor the circulation of technical equipment between ships; looking up technical equipment failures and how to fix them took a long time... From there, he built the "Technical Equipment Management" software initiative, solving the above difficulties. His initiative won the A prize at the "Nguyen Phan Vinh" Creative Youth Award in the Navy in 2023.

In addition, he and his teammates researched and built library management software, which significantly improved the efficiency of the Brigade's library management. Thanks to the software, book data can be updated quickly, integrated with barcode scanning to manage storage and lending, returning books... The product participated in and won the A prize of the Nguyen Phan Vinh Creative Youth Award in the Navy in 2023, and won the third prize of the Creative Youth Award in the Army in 2023.

In addition, he also actively participates in union activities, and was awarded the title of excellent union member by the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (2022); achieved the title of excellent union officer of the Navy (2023); received a certificate of merit from the Ministry of National Defense (2024)... Most recently, he was awarded the title of Emulation Fighter of the whole army in 2024.

Lieutenant Colonel Ha Van Ty - Deputy Political Commissar of Brigade 189 said that Captain Le Van Thu is a young officer who always clearly demonstrates his bravery, sense of responsibility and will to progress. In any position, he is proactive in researching, exploring and putting forward practical initiatives, contributing to improving the quality of training and technical assurance at the unit. The initiatives and software he built not only solve practical problems and shortcomings, but also improve management efficiency, saving time and effort for officers and soldiers. He is always ready to share knowledge, help his teammates progress together, and is a typical example of creativity for officers and soldiers to learn and follow.
