Following the success of the Vietnam ESG Forum 2024 with the theme "Sustainable development strategy in the new era", the Vietnam ESG Forum 2025 has the theme " Science and technology and driving force for sustainable development". This year's forum will focus on one of the key factors to promote sustainable development in the new era: science and technology.
The Vietnam ESG Forum 2025 High-Level Council consists of 12 members, who are prestigious and influential figures in the field of Environment, Society and Governance (ESG). The Council was established by the Vietnam ESG Forum Organizing Committee, with the aim of orienting, supporting and promoting the activities of the Forum.
On July 24, the meeting of the Vietnam ESG Forum 2025 High-Level Council took place in person and online at the Dan Tri newspaper office. Council members enthusiastically discussed many contents throughout this year's Forum.

Professor Nguyen Duc Khuong - Executive Director of EMLV Business School France, Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts Global (AVSE Global).
Professor Khuong has more than 100 research works and articles published in prestigious international scientific journals and many monographs in the UK, France, Germany, and the US. In addition, he is also a member of the editorial board of more than 10 specialized journals on international economics and finance.
In 2016, Mr. Khuong was ranked 7th out of 200 outstanding young economists in the world by the RePEc (Research Papers in Economics) Project. Sharing his views on ESG implementation, Mr. Khuong believes that if businesses want to survive, integrate internationally, and access global capital flows, they must follow ESG orientation, because this is no longer an option but a mandatory path.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Tho - Director of the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Agriculture and Environment (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment).
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Tho is currently the Director of the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. Previously, he held many important positions such as Rector of Ha Tinh University, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam - UK Friendship Association of Hanoi, Vice Rector, Party Committee member, Director of the Center for International Development, Head of the Department of Financial Analysis and Investment of the Foreign Trade University, etc.
Mr. Bui Minh Tien - Member of the Board of Members of Vietnam National Energy and Industry Group.
Mr. Bui Minh Tien has a Master's degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Physics. Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa - General Director of FPT Corporation, Chairman of Vietnam Software and IT Services Association, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association, Vice Chairman of ASOCIO.
Having been with the company since 1997, Mr. Khoa is known as one of the young leaders, having held many positions at FPT, he has impressive achievements in the core business areas of the unit.
After being appointed as Vice President of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association in 2023, Mr. Khoa, together with the Central Committee, maintained the association's activities towards localities to connect young entrepreneurs nationwide, towards sustainable development and successful digitalization.
Dr. Bui Thanh Minh - Deputy Director of the Office of Private Economic Development Research (Department IV) under the Prime Minister's Advisory Council for Administrative Procedure Reform.
Dr. Bui Thanh Minh is an expert in the field of policy reform and supporting green transformation of enterprises. He is also an expert in projects and activities of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), The Asia Foundation (TAF), the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and other international organizations to support enterprises and localities in green transformation and ESG practices.
In addition, Dr. Minh is also the author of many domestic and international scientific studies on sustainable development, and is also a consultant for organizations such as the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), Good Neighbors International (GNI), Save the Children and many ministries and sectors.
Dr. Le Thai Ha - Executive Director of VinFuture Foundation, Executive Director of Green Future Fund (under Vingroup).
Dr. Ha is the only Vietnamese female scientist named in the list of the world's most influential scientists (2021-2023). Graduated with a PhD in Economics from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore at the age of 24, Dr. Ha is a prestigious researcher with more than 80 articles in prestigious scientific journals - leading journals in the fields of energy economics, environment and applied economics.
For many years, she has been listed in the top 1% of the most influential scientists in the world (according to Stanford University). Dr. Ha is also the only female member of the Scientific Council of Economics (NAFOSTED, 2022-2024).
Notably, she is also the Executive Director of the Green Future Fund - a fund established in 2023 with the mission of contributing to the Government's goal of net zero emissions by 2050, towards a green tomorrow for future generations.
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung - Principal of Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung graduated from the National Economics University with a degree in Finance and Banking. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Banking Academy and was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2016.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung used to work at the Banking Academy, holding the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Forecasting and Statistics - State Bank before being assigned as Vice Rector, Vice Rector in charge and now Rector of Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City.
Mr. Trung is also a member of the Senior Council of the Vietnam ESG Forum. In seminars and talks, he regularly shares many experiences and offers practical solutions related to the reality in Vietnam, helping Vietnamese businesses overcome difficulties, seize opportunities, and reach sustainable success.
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ta Hai Tung - Principal of School of Information and Communication Technology - Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
Associate Professor Dr. Ta Hai Tung is currently the Principal of the School of Information and Communication Technology, Hanoi University of Science and Technology. He holds a PhD in Information and Communication Technology from three Italian polytechnic universities. He has been a researcher in Australia and Italy, a lecturer since 2003, Director of the International Center for Research and Development of Satellite Positioning Technology (2011-2018), and Chairman of the Asian Multisystem Positioning Technology Organization (2016-2019).
Associate Professor Ta Hai Tung has more than 70 scientific works and has been awarded many prestigious awards such as the Golden Globe for 10 young talents in Science and Technology (2013), Vietnam Talent (2015), and a certificate of merit from Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for his contributions to the implementation of the Project on Production, Issuance and Management of Citizen Identification Cards (2021).

In May 2024, Mr. Nguyen Duc Minh was elected Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Association of Key Industrial Products Manufacturers (HAMI). Mr. Minh said that taking on this position will open up new opportunities, helping him to promote his role in promoting the capital's key industries to develop more strongly.
HAMI is an industry association that brings together key industrial product manufacturing enterprises in Hanoi. Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Ngoc has 30 years of experience at Deloitte Vietnam in the fields of strategy and operations consulting, enterprise risk consulting, auditing and assurance.
She has extensive experience in providing consulting services to corporations, multinational companies, energy, banking, telecommunications, technology, etc.
She also holds the position of Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Certified Public Accountants (VACPA).
Mr. Giando Zappia - Chairman of the EuroCham Sustainable Finance Sector Committee, Chairman of Aquila.is.
The Sustainable Finance Sector Committee is EuroCham’s newest sub-committee, established with the aim of promoting policies to develop Vietnam’s sustainable finance sector, sharing practical experiences and building capacity through events, training and promoting the application of international standards.
As a member of the Senior Council of the Vietnam ESG Forum, Mr. Giando believes that Vietnam's journey towards sustainable growth is clearly reflected in economic indicators.
"Vietnam ESG Forum 2025: Science and technology and the driving force for sustainable development" aims to focus on one of the key factors to promote sustainable development in the new era: science and technology. This direction is consistent with the spirit of Resolution 57 of the Politburo, which is to take science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as the driving force for development.
Bringing together scientists, business leaders, and policy makers, this year's forum focuses on harnessing the power of technology to solve major challenges.
The highlight of the event continues to be the Vietnam ESG Awards 2025, honoring and recognizing businesses with outstanding achievements in ESG implementation, especially in applying technology towards sustainable development.
